I'm sure most of you have heard of it. Has anyone played it?

I used to (still do) have a small collection of WoW Trading Cards. I played that with a few of my close IRL friends a few years ago. It's really just a simplified version of Magic The Gathering. Hearthstone is basically a 'digitalized' version of the WoW TCG.

I played it for about a week and got bored. Any thoughts from you guys?

I got an invite to the beta. I have never played card games before. I thought the concepts behind it were interesting, but the computer seemed to cheat. Many times it would pull out just the perfect combination of cards which it couldn't have had.

Seems to be built pretty well, if you're into that sort of thing. Personally I prefer games with a little more strategy than random luck.

Its very nice... but its very much Pay to Win. I already spent over 300$ just to get most decent cards :D

You dont have to spend money though... you can just spend 2000h grinding instead. But then I value my time a lot higher than money.

As is how most games are nowadays. But hey, if it worked for Riot, it must work for everyone! I have no problem with cosmetic micro transactions, but being able to buy randomized card packs gives way too much of an advantage. But everyone argues that's how you progress in card games IRL.

Well played Blizzard. You win this time...
