Well now there is. I got X on release day and have been playing it ever since. 15 hours of playtime nonstop on Saturday alone .-.

I bought a 3DS just for this game and it was more than worth it. Everything I wished for in gen 1 and 2 are here. Everything I hated in gen 3 and 4 are not here. They're using 3D models now, not sprites. Pokemon battles are a lot more animated. Pokemon from all generations will show up, not like the previous generations where all you'd get were new pokemon until you unlock some sort of national dex. I was able to get many of my gen 1 favorites. The entire OST sounds great too.

Anyways enough blabbering. Here are some pretty pictures of me!

Also when you surf on a Lapras, you are shown riding Lapras around on the water. Any other pokemon just defaults back to a blue sphere.
Oh and there are Pikachu early in the game. A lot of Pikachu.


Did I mention there are a lot of Pikachu?

I'm really impressed with X&Y, and I feel it's a much better direction to be moving in when it comes to the games. I like the mix of "generations" of Pokemon, the graphics, the better battles. For an old timer that enjoyed Red, Blue, and Yellow this is much more appealing than Black and White was. I'm very close to dropping the cash on a 2DS and one of these because it looks very enjoyable and without being too crazily different from the earlier generations or even the Gamecube versions.

I got Y cause Charlizards mega form looks better. It's got some good improvements. EXP share for your entire team is great, I've not had to use a HM yet so hopefully that holds out cause HM's are stupid. Love the fact you can get the original 3 starters or at least one of them. Plus the torchick means i had 3 starters on one team.

My pokemons so far:



Haven't found a sixth yet. I base my choices on how cute they look. A lot get dumped when they evolve into something ugly. Torchick for example.

edit: Oh and the wonder trade is cool. I already got an exclusive X pokemon out of it. Hope the community keeps that alive and doesn't just trade crap.

This time they try not to make the HMs absolutely required. No more needing to cut go places, pushing rocks into holes to go other places, but instead they just provide route shortcuts or access to optional areas. You'll still need surf though but that's a good battle move already so you're not sacrificing much. Fly has always been optional but it makes things oh so convenient. Plus the animation this time around makes it awesome. Basically all of the HMs which are useless battle moves are optional.

My pokemon so far:
Firewizardfox
Pidgeot
Pikachu with light ball
Lucario
Lapras
Fifth slot for whatever. I got Charizard X because I wanted a dragon typing, but turns out he got pretty redundant. A Venusaur would've rounded out my team's typing. So right now I'm bugging a friend to trade me a Bulbasaur on his second temp run.

Oh and finally after sixteen years I can change my clothes.

I went with X as my game choice, I'm looking forward to some of the horde battles. Apparently someone got a horde of Wailords and the whole screen was just blue. :P

I don't actually like them. Each and every one of the pokemon has to do a move so add in the animations and there so slow and boring. Thankfully there usually way under leveled so if you have a move that can hit multiple targets you can one shot them all.

Managed to bag all 3 original red/blue starters through trades. Having a little more trouble getting the 3 starters of X/Y. Unlocked mega evolutions...going into it i thought they was a really stupid thing but they actually seems pretty cool. 3 gym badges now.

edit: If you're after the starters for red/blue BTW Eevee seems like a very popular trade for them. You can catch eevee in the wild but for whatever reason people snap the trade up real quick. I'm guessing it's because as the games newly released some people haven't figured out you can get them in the wild and think theres only one or something so they want a few to get all his evolutions.

I can breed you a Fennekin or a Chespin if you'd like. I suppose if you breed me a Squirtle we can trade.

Not now though. Sometime over the weekend when I'm not working my butt off.

geezz.. i remember when we had to link up the cable to other gameboys to play.

and then, with color you had that infrared thing on top that you would use to trade items with other people... soo many times i've tried to figure out how to get the physic spoon for my alakazam :(

I have Pokemon Y and I'm working on playing through my girlfriends Pokemon X so I can get the X exclusive stuff. I.E Mewtwo X and Charizard X and some of the other mega stones.

I'm also trying to complete as much of the pokedex as I can. I just don't have any of the past mystery gifts like Mew, Deoxys, Jirachi, Etc.

They aren't necessarily remakes, they are more hi-def sequels.
