Today, we’re delighted to announce one of the most hotly-anticipated titles in our history - Total War: Rome II™ - sequel to the multi-million selling, 92% Metacritic-rated classic Rome: Total War, encompassing one of the best-known periods in world history. Total War: Rome II™ will sink players into the dangerous political machinations of Rome’s senate, while asking them to struggle with family dilemmas and question the loyalty of ‘friends’ and allies. Leading the greatest army ever seen into battle will be just one challenge you will face at the head of the world’s first superpower. Will you help forge an empire? Restore the Republic? Or grasp the reins of power for yourself, and assume the hated title of tyrant? Who will you conquer? Who will you betray? Who will you sacrifice? “How far will you go for Rome?” “Our games have always encompassed a grand vision”, said Mike Simpson, Creative Director. “But we’re now pushing that vision at both ends of the spectrum. From the immense reach of the sandbox campaign right down to the human-level drama of a single warrior on the battlefield, we’re aiming for an unprecedented level of detail and scale”. “In our 25th year of games development, it feels fitting to return to our most critically acclaimed era”, continued Rob Bartholomew, Brand Director. “There’s been a multi-generational leap in technology since the original game and we are ready to set another benchmark in gaming.” http://forums.totalwar.com/showthread.p ... ?p=354691#post354691 i believe i speak for all total war fans when i say ![]() |

Yes. This will be an epic game. Room for improvement, but Sega does a great job with the Total War games. Wish it would come before the Apocalypse, though. ![]() |

I'm a huge fan of the Total War series, so this makes me squeal. Hopefully this will be another hit. Anyone play Shogun 2? I haven't really looked into it, wondering if anyone here has thoughts on it. |

Aw, I kind of liked that aspect! With things like that, it was all about how desperate you are, and how lucky you feel you are. "Calculated risks" are a big part of war strategies, as much today as they were back then. If firing a cannon at a general that I'm also charging with my troops is worth the potential horrific dismemberment of my own men, then that's the risk I take. ![]() |

It's quite realistic that if your men are too close to the enemy and your archers fire, they will take some arrows in the back. Wouldn't mind if they brought it back. |

Lots of strategy games seem to be getting easier. I think it's to do with the fact that this new generation is stupider than the last one. (If this insults you keep in mind that I'm talking about myself too) |

Most strategy games have different difficulty levels. So basically, you have the option to make it harder if you like. Doesn't have to be easy if you don't want it to be. |
