Now, my computer is literally one of the worst here on rsbandb. A five year old laptop with a 1.6Ghz processor. I can run Minecraft at a constant 15Fps with slight increases and decreases. This is on tiny render distance though. Anyway, I was just wondering if there is anything I can do to speed it up? Thanks The Kamikaze Guy |

Drop all the detail and **** down to low. I think minecraft has those options it's been a while. And closing down any programs you don't need open can't hurt. I wonder if how much you explore and build effects your performance. |

As far as I know minecraft only renders the chunks around you so you don't have to worry about exploring too much, but building things like clocks will slow you down somewhat. |

Enabling Advanced OpenGL will boost your FPS some, as it undraws anything that isn't on the screen, and then redraws it when you view it again. |

My laptop is just as old, cheap and junky and had problems with Minecraft as well. I use to freeze, lagout and crash even while all detail settings at it's lowest. Switch over to "Run as administrator" and made it run Windows XP pack2. Put a stop to the random crashes. Helped me with the performance. |

Check out OptiFine. It can help, especially if your hardware specs are lacking. |

Minecraft can be slow at the best of times. If you're using a texture pack find a lower res version. If I'm using a 26x256 sometimes I need to hit esc and wait for the blocks to load before walking about. That may help alongside others' comments. |
