http://masseffect.com/about/demo/ Has 2 levels that I can find so far, which show off the terrain and the new features of the game. It is 2GB in size and only available on Origin. There is also Mutliplayer, which because I bought BF3 I got early access to, which is like King of the Hill gameplay. You get into a team of up to 4 (can be by yourself but it will be challenging) and just fight waves after waves of oncoming enemies (don't want to say what type for spoiler sake) and that's it so far. You can play as the different Mass Effect classes along with the different races, with each class only having certain races for it. So far I really like it. Rebound some of my keys so I need to maybe try out the default to see if the auto move-to-cover system really works because I seem to cancel it. Um... go and get it. Also, if you pre-order (or already pre-ordered) the game from now to the release date (March 6th, 2012) you get a free copy of BF3. So if that isn't more if an incentive to buy it, now you should really want to go and get it. ![]() |

That seems really tempting now. Two games for the price of one. Still not sure I like Origin that much, but I might give it a shot this year. |

get a free copy You could own a copy of Mass Effect 3 that has actually been to space — or at least an elevation as high as the weather balloons to which EA will strap copies of Mass Effect 3 can achieve. In a rather clever marketing stunt for BioWare's new sci-fi role-playing game, Electronic Arts is sending its spaced-out shooter to great heights. USA Today reports that EA and BioWare will be launching copies of Mass Effect 3 high into the sky from New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris. When they land, gamers can go grab the GPS tracking device-enabled copies of the game to snatch a fallen copy in advance of the game's official March 6 street date. According to the USA Today, we'll be able to track the location of those copies of Mass Effect 3 by way of masseffect.com. i should try that. but odds are it would have landed in san jose. |

Well you can't get BF3 from pre-ordering Mass Effect 3 anymore. Just ended today but still pre-order the game. I've had mine pre-ordered since 6/13/2011. ![]() |

Multiplayer is far more fun than I was anticipating. Singleplayer was same ol' Mass Effect goodness, which means I can't wait for it to be released officially! |

But even without the BF3 promotion everyone should but the game. Should add me on Origins for some ME3 multiplayer fun: TimCF |

I've been a hardcore Mass Effect fan since the first one and I have to say that I am amped for this game. I've already played and beat the single-player demo. Needless to say I cannot wait to play the final chapter in the series. Also I wasn't sure how the multiplayer was going to turn out, but I really enjoy how they incorporated it! The multiplayer will give the game plenty of reply value for me. I will also be getting full gamerscore on this game as I did with Mass Effect 1 and 2. (Insanity on 2 was the hardest achievement I've ever earned and I'm definitely the most proud of it). Anyway, I have the N7 Edition (Collector's Edition) reserved at GameStop and I will be attending the midnight release on March 6th. |

The whole Mass Effect series (Aka ME1+ME2) has been good thus far, and it's a great storyline in my opinion. However, gameplay wise, ME2 is a more accurate representation of what I've seen from the demo. They changed quite a bit of mechanics from ME1 to ME2, and even a bit in the transition to ME3, though ME2 to ME3 seem to be closer than ME1 would be. Origin is a piece of crap, still enforced for me when trying to download the ME3 demo. Had a peak of 400Kb/s downloading, while Steam routinely gives me 2.2Mb/s downloads. Though, from what I could see, ME3 didn't have the same BS of the browser launcher for single and multiplayer that Battlefield 3 had, so that's a plus. |

I would have downloaded the demo if it wasn't on origin, I wonder how many people they lost because of that. |

Wouldn't be surprised if they went back to a Steam release along with Origin. The thing is they are just so far behind...Valve has had it down for so many years. EA is just being a cry baby imo. |

Has anyone played Planescape: Torment or the Baldur's Gate games here that has also played Mass Effect? I felt that these old BioWare games were very good games, and I want to know if the Mass Effect series lives up to that standard, because Dragon Age certainly doesn't. Basically, was it really BioWare behind their old masterpieces, or was it Black Isle, and has EA raped what once was. |
