Yo noobs, I was wondering if when gaming, you've encountered moments that creeped the hell out of you or maybe even scared you to death? Mine was in Resident Evil 4. If you played it, you know where I'm coming. Yes, Regenerators and Iron Maidens. They drive me nuts every time I see them. Not only because they're creepy but also because they're a pain in the *** to kill. And Iron Maidens are even worse because destroying The Plagas isn't enough, you have to waste bunch of bullets in order to finish them off. And the ones in the video aren't too bad. The worst ones are from the Garbage Vent. But the one that made me truly shat bricks was the random Iron Maiden(?) in the Prison Cell. I mean, it was totally black, and all I could hear was «Grewwwwaahhhh» coming to me, so I completly wasted my bazooka and 1 hitted it lol. What about you? What are your creepiest moments in games? |

Thief 3 - the cradle. Pretty much anything in Thief 1/2 scared the **** out of me but there so old now the graphics don't hold up too great. You know what really makes it a brilliant level? If your planning on playing it don't click below cause it'll ruin it; Spoiler for SPOILZ:

Amnesia: Dark Descent (in general... And no, I still haven't finished it) Half Life 2 -- Ravenholm *Note - Ravenholm doesn't start until several minutes in.. And scary bits might not even be in this clip.. I just wanted to find something that wasn't at 240p. Various bits from the Fallout series, usually in a vault with Mutants. |

Phantom Ganon from LoZ: Ocarina of Time. First time I saw this boss I was scared to hell. Proabably me being about 9 years old at the time added to this. |

The first playthrough I had of Ravenholm creeped me out, mostly because I got so lost with fast zombies on my HEV-suited ***. Now I can confidently go through the whole chapter with just a gravity gun and crowbar. It's also a lot more fun that way. |

It didn't help that for my first playthrough, my roommate kept telling me to turn off the lights and turn the volume up.. |

I was freaked out a lot just by playing the old Call of Duty games. You come around a corner and a German just pops out of nowhere. I have quite a few moments like that in games. Most the time, it just happens when I'm unprepared or not expecting it. Also, it's funny how in a game like Resident Evil 4, it's the sound and music that freaks you out more than the actual images. If you take the sound out of a game or movie, it just completely takes away from any fear you might have. |

It's because in a tiny boxed screen, sound will provide more immersion effect than the graphics. Which is why in Minecraft those cave noises creep me out every time they go off. |

However I think it is the sounds that creatures makes that truly builds the ''fear''. And the surprise effect. I mean, when I played RE4 for the first time, I didn't expect the first Iron Maiden to be that close after seeing it on the camera screens. Or when the first Regenerator appeared, I **** DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING! And I was like 'dude omfg they're unkillable' when I wasted 200 TMP bullets on them before I realized I had to shoot their Plagas in order to kill them. |

I'm getting old, but I can remember playing Perfect Dark on the N64. I remember playing the last couple of levels where there were these cloaked aliens or aliens that pretended to be human. That combined with a gun/lawnmower weapon they had, it scared the hell out of me. |

Wow, completely forgot about Bioshock. There was more than one messed up moment playing through that game. And as for Minecraft, very true. A good deal of the creepy moments are sound-based, though some of the Creeper moments can be more 'frighting' than creepy. |
