The other day I was thinking about how much I loved Assassin's Creed and was looking forward to when a good price for the game might roll around. As I googled it, I was shocked to find that I could purchase the game brand new for $15 (w/ tax and shipping of course). Right now, UBI soft is selling the game on Amazon for $15 brand new. If you haven't got the game already, this is a great chance to get it for a good price (unless I'm mistaken). This is the PC version and is well worth the $21 in total cost to purchase. I recommend you guys look into it if you are interested.

That's because nobody wants the PC version. There anti-piracy ******* has gimped the sales of there PC games so much that the've stopped using it all together now. :lol:

It's fairly common in the uk for games this old to drop in price;

The PS3 version is even cheaper.

Well, it's a pretty big deal to me most the time, regardless the circumstances. I'm a PC gamer only and am always looking for deals or the price to come down from the $40-$60 price range. I don't feel games should be in the $60 range ever. They just aren't worth it. It's a greedy move by publishers to gain massive amounts of money. Games are not super expensive to produce and usually make up for this cost with many units being sold. I'd rather see games being sold at $40 across the board or back at $50 like they were a couple years back. This gaming inflation is just over the top imo. : /

I dunno. Games like GTA IV/RDR are reported to have cost rockstar 100mill to make. That's not the same price as a big budget movie but they still need to sell a few million to make that money back. I think you have to judge them on a case by case basis.

AC2 was worth the money for me because it had the high production values i expect from a full priced games. Very well crafted world, with plenty of content and action. Sadly something i think brotherhood is going to lack all together what with the creator jumping ship and ubisoft rushing it out only a year after AC2.

Ya. I was quite surprised myself to see them releasing the next installment so soon. I thought they would have at least dragged it out until next year. But I guess it's their call. It will be interesting to see the reception...esp. for the multiplayer.

Yeah, it's like a sliding scale. Big budget games take millions to create, so nowadays more often than not you'll see them being sold for $60 and moving tons of units. By no means is this the norm. There are plenty of games that don't cost as much to produce, sell for the old $50 or less, and move far fewer units. Most everyone tends to make a profit and everyone is content to occupy their own corner of the market.

Well, I did finish the game and I have to say it was at least better than the last one. I liked it very much and thought it was very well made. Hope Brotherhood will be just as good when it comes out.
