Alright, I must confess. I'm going through a little bit of a retroactive stage in gaming right now. I've been getting games from the early and mid 1990's (which isn't that long ago I suppose). Anyways, I found this little nugget on an IGN review of the top 25 PC games of all time. Top 25 PC Games of All Time: 10-1 I had been watching a guy on Youtube by the name of LordFinisher play through the game from beginning to end which helped give me a better sense of the old gameplay and make me want the game more. Anyways, the premise of the game is that Aliens invade January 1999 and try to take over the Earth. You have a base on Earth and use your men to fight against and combat the Alien menace while building up your base to the final battle where you invade the Alien base and destroy what could be considered the enemy similar to the Starcraft "Zerg Overmind." Anyways, I suggest for anyone out there who is into old games and classic RTS to take a second look at this game. Here's the main website I found for the game with explanations and all. http://www.xcomufo.com/ The game was only $5 on Steam. Not a bad deal considering it's an old game. Anyways, that's my two cents. If anyone here has played it as well, what do you think of the game? If not, what do you think of old games in general? |

New one of these coming out i believe. Old games for the most part are best remembered as great and left in the past. Usually when i go back to an old game that i have fond memorys of the game mechanics are really out dated and it's just awful to play. You get the odd gem that lives over time and can be played over and over. |

There was a feature on it in the most recent OXM. |

![]() ![]() *still has the original 3.5 disks for this somewhere, along with terror from the deep and apocalyse cd* ![]() ![]() was a great game to bad i dislike having to constantly load bits and pieces offa of steam or i'd of gotten them when it had them on special sometime last year for the whole trilogy. there was already sort of a first person made off of the original X-Com tho it was mostly a flying shooter if i recall right. 2k remaking it sounds decent, and Jagex's low grade replica based off it was decent on Funorb as well. |

X-COM Package I take it this is what you are referring to. It has all the X-COM games for $15, which isn't too bad imo. Ya, they are old, but you get all of them for $15 and all that low quality graphics game play to boot. ![]() |

yea i seen something about it last year for cheaper i think but as i said i dislike steam with a passion for having to load every few minutes offa they servers constantly while playing anything. mayb someday i'll bother to force meself to learn enough coding to re-code the disk that are somewhere around here to work on the newer OS's so i can truly say screw using steam. |
