While there were previously rumors of BioShock becoming a movie, now it's a reality. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/83749-Take-Two-Signs-BioShock-Movie-Deal There is also a mention of a BioShock sequel, which will be interesting. Would anyone here be interested in a movie for BioShock? I think I'd rent it sometime. |

BS2 is currently set for a 2009 release. As for the film..arg, i don't hold out hope. The biggest issue will be the main character. YOU played as him in bioshock and he was who you wanted him to be, in your mind. Now they have to find someone to play him and get him done right, or it'll blow. |

trekkie wrote: creepy would you kinda be optimistic. ![]() After silent hill, Doom, Hitman, Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat, Street fighter, Alone in the dark and many others, i really can't be optimistic about these things. I suppose we have resident evil, those films where ..ok at least but having never played a resident evil game for more than 10 minutes, i wouldn't really be able to get ***** off at things Hollywood opts to change, like not making Agent 47 a robot in hitman, i mean, it's not like that was a big important detail about the charac...oh wait. It's like the little sisters, think Hollywood is going to allow children to be killed and used? Course not, they had to be careful about that in the game itself it'll never be allowed in the film. My biggest fear though, next to the main character would be Andrew Ryan. I can see them going over the top with him, making him some mad crazy scientist with a mustache that he likes to twiddle while laughing evilly. ON THE OTHER HAND, rumor has it the director is the same dude that did pirates of the Caribbean and while the second and third installments where crap, the first was decent and anyone who can make a film out of a theme park ride should be able to make a half decent film. Lets hope. |

The movie doesn't necessarily have to be based on the game. It could revolve around Ryan, and the founding and downfall of Rapture. It could actually turn into quite a political movie: creating an underwater Utopia because Ryan didn't agree with any government styles. Then it could move on to the advances in ADAM and the introduction of Plasmids, the underground plasmid business run by... ugh, what's his name... Frank something? Then the big shootout, the rise of Atlas, the little sisters, the Big Daddies, and the downfall of Rapture. The movie could end with Ryan's son hijacking the plane and crashing outside of Rapture, but never actually go into that story. |

That's not a bad idea and it'd actually go well with the plot of BS2, which is rumored to be set before rapture fell. |

As long as it's not done by Uwe Boll, it has a fighting chance. |

He was actually a pretty good guy... It was basically Fontaine that corrupted Rapture with his underground Plasmid business, and once Fontaine was "dead", Ryan's only choice was to adopt the Plasmids as his own, or else Splicers would have taken over Rapture. Anyways, I think both the movie and game will be great. I can't wait to see a real life Big Daddy. |

It'd be interesting if the movie was all first person, that way you'd never have to change your own personal ideal of the main character. I'd probably do the BioShock series of games if another version came out. I'm in no hurry till then though..I wasn't overly impressed with the demo, so I never bothered playing the full version. |

As overrated as I thought the game was (ex. amazing story), I still think it had some really great moments and was a very fun experience. I just don't think it had as good a story as everyone made it out to be. Any RPG could easily have a better story. |

Tis the point, it's not an RPG. Naturally an RPG would have a better story, that's what makes up an RPG. Bioshock is more a first person shooter with a drizzle of role play on top. For a shooter, the story was incredible. Something i hope more FPS devs take note of it really adds to the game. |

If you want an FPS with an amazing story, I STRONGLY suggest that you play The Darkness. I wrote an review for it, which should be published in the Informer tomorrow. I still consider it the best game for the 360 to date. Also, the Little Sisters were never actually harmed, they were more used and abused than actually hurt. Trying to keep violence towards the Little Sisters out of the movie would be a stupid idea. Actually, the more I think of it, it's a 90% chance that the movie will suck. Silent Hill was probably the best game-movie that I've seen, but it wasn't all that good. |
