What could be a good MMORPG to try playing? The ideal game would be: - In 3D (NO MapleStory etc) - FREE - Not too much grinding. I know MMO's are made of grinding but I want it to be enjoyable ![]() I wanna try a MMO other than RS. I'll probably buy Guild Wars II when it comes out but I need to try something until then. Thanks for reading, looking forward to suggestions. |

Its not free, but WoW is a great choice. I just got it about a month ago and I love it. I think the monthly price is fair to, seeing as you can create hundereds of alternate characters on one account incase you ever get bored of your level 70. Yeah, my choice on mmorpg. Edit: I think Age of Conan is coming out soon, looks like a good one to me so you might wana check that out. Edit, Again: Slight note: Trust me on this, your not going to find many GOOD mmorpgs out there. Everyones in it for the money , so you might as well get ready to fork over a few bucks. |

I think WoW is pretty much the only good non-grinding MMO out there, so it's your best choice. |

Guild Wars is an obvious choice if you don't like paying monthly fees, other than that there is always World of Warcraft. |

Questing IS grinding in WoW: 1) "Kill X of this and that." 2) "Collect Y of this by killing these." 3) "Explore Z, kill X of this." 4) "Find this person (who will have you do one of 1-3)." I'm not bashing WoW. I'm just saying, it is entirely based around combat/grinding. Anyway, there aren't many good free MMORPG's out there. Some that you pay for aren't even that good. *cough* Runescape *cough* ![]() |

Retail mmog obviously are of a higher quality though. |

No, character transfers will NOT transfer to Guild Wars 2 from 1. Anubis is right so bare that in mind. However, it is still a great standalone game, and I mean for what .. £20? a chapter, probably less now it's good enough to fill a year until Guild Wars 2 comes out. I mean, GW2 is only just hitting Alpha testing now, so it's going to be a while. Plus then playing Guild Wars 1 you will have some experience with the first game and be more ... prepared for the second. |

This game looks good from the screenshots and a quick readthrough of the starting guides... |
