Yeah, so today when I went to turn on my 360, I was greeted by one red ring and an "E74" error message. I tried calling customer support but they said their servers were down and to call back in 2 to 4 hours. So, I then went onto the Xbox Forums and found some people talking about the same error. Most said that they eventually had to send their box in. I was wondering if anyone here had the same error, how they fixed it, and what the outcome was.

A red RING? All 4? 3/4? 2/4? 1/4? Well if it is 1/4 read your manual, I think that means it has overheated. Let it cool down and you'll be fine.

But still read your manual.

Well, I called them up today and had to give them my info because they said that it needed to be repaired. I really really hope that the guy got my info right because he barely understood english (What a surprise  ) Right now I can't check my repair status, do I have to wait until I get the coffin before I can check the status?

Getting your 360 sent off and back i found to be a bloody complicated situation. Right now mines stuck on "received billing info" and it's been like that for 4 days, just send me it back already.

How long did you have to wait until there was any repair status at all, and how did you register your console?

Well all I did was ring them up, and tell them everything they needed to know, and the coffin came in a few days later, and got my 360 back in about ... I don't know ... 30 days later?

Do you even have to send the box to India to be repaired, or do they import workers just for the overseas-esque treatment? Seems like they should have the repairs down to a science by now; turnaround shouldn't be more than week.

I thought 1 ring was just that the AV cable had come lose :|

Either that or it's overheated, and the AV cable is 2 rings, there's definately no cause to send it away from what I gather. :?

I had Error 74 which was the main reason for sending it away, I have either three rings or one ring, I can't really tell. Three quadrants are lit one isn't, but one quadrant is a lot darker red than the others. It hasn't worked for three days so I think it had to be sent called in. By the way, assuming they sent the coffin Tuesday, when do you think I should receive it?

Perhaps about 7 to 14 days.
