Apparently if you're under the age of 18, don't expect to download any new GTA trailers or play any new 18+ rated games. Cause you're out of luck.

I just have to laugh tbh, Glad it's not me. XD

I find it kinda stupid. Our parents should be in control of what we play and watch. Not the government/ ESRB.

Good point, but then, some parents are complete idiots, maybe they should like give you a psychical examination and if you're fine you'll be given a gamer's licence... :?

yes but the government wants to protect us from "violence" i find it ironic since they are going and starting wars... I agree it should be the parents job, but some parents just dont care, and there is some material in games small children shouldnt see.

For example, you have a small child. say the age of six or seven.

you allow him to go to a friends house who is a bit older (nine or ten).

they decide to play a videogame! they make their choice and begin playing it for about an hour. later that friend says "hey wanna see something cool in this game". your child says yes, not knowing what it is or what it could be.

That older friend then goes and shows him something in a game completely inappropriate for that small child. Now, i suppose that shows that the older child's parent didnt care and allowed him to purchase that game.

Now, do you honestly believe parents should still be in charge? i know my scenario was in the most extreme case, but it was to prove that some parents dont care. I think the government should have some control, but not complete control.

I know at my local gamestop if i try to buy an M rated game theyll usually ask my dad if its ok, which it usually is o.O

Also guys, i can't confirm this one at all. But APPARENTLY you can't download the new Halo 3 maps either if you're under a certain age. Probably 16.

L.M.F.A.O if that's true.

^ that would suck for whiny 10 years old who give away their real age lol. I buy my games Ebgames, and best buy only.

Yeah luckily I got my dad to put his details and stuff in for my gamertag, so I'm OK with buying the trailers. My parents know I'm mature and adult enough anyway.

Yeah, I have had this problem for awhile now since I made my account a child account. Luckily though, they will be sending out an update very soon that will fix this problem so I'm not worried.

This age restriction only applies to demos and trailers, anyone can still play an M rated game on a child account.

That is incorrect, as long as the Parental controls on the console are set to allow it, child accounts can download content for Mature games.

Ya I found out when I tried to download the Bioshock trial. Although, you're sposed to be able to buy M-rated games at 17 (my age), so that's kinda dumb. :?

I can still download everything and my age definately says i'm 15.

Is it only in certain countries or something? Or am I just getting lucky?
