Post subject:  Well, here's a shocker.

On December 11th, 2007 I got one of the best games I've ever played, Guitar Hero III with a guitar controller.

On December 12th, 2007 at 10:31 AM I turn on my Xbox 306, sit in my comfortable chair, wait for it to turn on... It does, then it freezes, and there's some blue bars on the screen. I shut of my Xbox 360...

I can't remember much of anything but me screaming "No!" because I saw the worst thing I've ever seen. THE THREE RED RINGS OF DEATH.

I run out into the living room and I yell for my Mom. She goes in my room, she starts messing with the 360, it ends up turning on and working again. An hour or two of playing on Guitar Hero III on Hard and I get to "The Guitar Battle against Lou" and in the middle with the solo everything turns into blue bars again.

I go get my Mom, she calls Xbox support, they tell her that I need to see if there's anything wrong with the cords, well I think the power cord area with the power box is broken because when I plug that cord into it it is a little wobbley, well I haven't tried the power cord that plugs into the Xbox itself but I will once I get home.

God I hate these freaking companies who make the best new things and they end up breaking...

Well I went on xbox.com but I can't find out how to get my warranty renewed. I've had my Xbox for about a year and a half. (July 20th, 2006). The one year warranty is no longer "available."

Oh, and I forgot to add, I let my 360 cool down for awhile and it works again. I don't know if there's something wrong with my cords or something but when I get the Red Ring of Death, it'll cool down and it'll work for about two more hours. I've only had the Red Ring of Death twice in a day, I'll check and see if it'll happen again today.

So... what has your week been like?

Microsoft rushed the 360 our fast last year for the holidays.

Anything rushed wouldn't be very good.

It's been out 2 years..

Still had no problem with mine, still believe it's mostly due to how you look after it.

PS2 had issues as well, we all dealt with it tbh.

No significant problems as of now for me. I have had three rings once and two once but each time I just restarted and they went away. Hopefully you fix your problems and don't have to send it in. :( [/td]

Lmao I was like that when it happened to me but I remember shouting out 'Oh you gotta be s****ing me!' right infront of my dad.

Turns out mine only overheated.

I'm on my 4th 360 now. First 3 all got red ringed.

The first 3 were all within a month of getting it, then I have had this current one for almost a year :)

Well now the Xbox 360 is really broken, it won't work.

I still can't find out how to get the three year warranty from xbox.com though... :|

It's standard if you bought the warrenty, it's the only warrenty you can buy.

Dear Steven,

My little brother spilt Coke on the controller. It made the buttons sticky. Little wretch.

Love,

MQ

Good job on posting relevant information on the subject. I ought to ban you.

Ps. I realize the irony that I have not posted any relevant data on this thread either, and so I will say: Xbox.

That's why it doesn't work.

I've heard of too many Xbox360's doing this...If you say that letting it cool down helps, maybe something's wrong with the cooling system. When did you get the Xbox? The first version released had problems with the cooling system, so maybe you've got one that is finally acting up. Who knows..if your warrante isn't going to work any longer, open the sucker up and clean it out. Cool the thing down
