Post subject:  The best non-Xbox Live 360 Games?

Alright. For Christmas I am going to chip in with my parents to buy a 360 (with the new Falcon processor system because my mom was still paranoid about it breaking down) and I want to buy some games. To start, I don't know if I also want to purchase a router and Live because I really have no source of income other than special occasion money, and I don't want to be broke completely.

So, here I'd like you guys to recommend the best single-player/campaign 360 games. I'm already set on Bioshock. I've never played a Halo game ever (call me deprived :() so when Microsoft comes out with that "Buy games for the original Xbox for your 360" thing I'll probably just get the whole trilogy around the same time, so no mentioning Halo. Call of Duty might be in there, still think I may want to wait a bit on that one. Assassins Creed may be a rent.

:\

To get the xbox originals you'll need some for of internet connection to your 360 though.

Anyways try Oblivion, perhaps Mass Effect although I've not played that myself. Viva pinata, Dead rising, Rainbow six Vegas has a decent campaign.

Call of duty 4s campaign is extremely good but as i said, it's short. That game was built for multiplayer really. Condemned criminal origins is good, little to no replay value though but it'll scare the hell out of you.

Blue Dragon might be worth a look, didn't like it myself but if you like JRPG's it might be your thing.

Rock Band/guitar hero if you like that sorta thing. Bioshock is pretty much a must have best FPS single player campaign this year. Crackdown is worth a look but it's at it's prime in Co-op.

Oh and for the love of god pick up Ninja Gaiden 2 next year. ;D

edit: About halo, if you don't care about the story just get Combat Evolved and Halo 3. Halo 2 isn't much good for single player.

I'd never played a Halo game before 3, and it took me a while to get used to it. But the gameplay is really fun. I'd recommend it even if you know nothing about Halo at all (like me).

I agree. I have no live right now and Campaign is really fun. Theres a lot of things you can do with it offline like forge. I wouuld also recomend Fable" TLC. It's a good game dispite it being old.

I think Assassins Creed would be a good idea. Its repetitive and basically all the same, yet addicting, realistic and makes you not wanna stop playing!

Oblivion, Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, BioShock, and Guitar Hero 3 for sure.

I thought oblivion was ok ;\

Only boring part was 99% of the guild missions are "go in to this cavern/cave/ruin and kill all the monsters/find someone/find an item"

The main quest line got fun at the end though.

Yeah the guilds are a bit repetitive, but each storyline is unique and amazing, and the graphics are amazing. I recommend getting Oblivion too!

My list wasn't in any specific order. I would say the best of those to get for a great single player experience would be BioShock.

First off don't get a 360 if you have no intention of getting internet access in the near future. And no matter what, even with the newer processors, more likely than not your 360 WILL break down, I recommend the extended warranty from wherever you buy it from. Not only will they give you a NEW one, you can get it instantly instead of waiting 1 month for Microsoft. That along is worth the ~$40 for the warranty.

Also, Live is extremely cheap. Compared to the console and all the games you plan to get for it, it's nothing at all. Also keep in mind that with your new 360 you get 1 month of Xbox Live Gold for free! Make sure it's plugged into the internet when you set it up and when you create your gamertag just select "free silver membership" for your subscription and it will pop up asking you if you want the 1 free month.

Oblivion would be fun but it could get really repetitive like Brad said but there are a lot of extra quests that you could do..
