Basically xbox live for free. 8)

It tricks your xbox to go to xbox live from system link.

It's not just xbox they're other systems also.

I play on XLink Kai since xbox connect doesn't work on my computer for some reason. :?

Yeah if I was you I wouldn't take the risk. Xbl is worth the amount of money it costs anyway, I only pay a fiver a month and I use it every day. I can't say I regret paying for it either.
