Post subject:  What would you like to see?

As a new year begins, a change will be coming to the weekly segment of Economic Headlines. As I have been thinking about the Economic Headlines, I notice that they aren't very popular. It is no fault of yours, I found them hard to write, and they usually did not come out as great as I wanted them to. That made it difficult for some to read, because all it really contained was numbers and graphs. Therefore, I will no longer be writing them.

I do however want to continue writing a short column each week, but I want members of Rsbandb to get use from it.

I have opened this topic for all of you to suggest something that could come out each week. Please keep these ideas related to the Economic aspect of Runescape. If you do not want suggest an idea on this thread, you may do so by sending me a pm.

I will keep this open until I have a decent number of ideas, in which case I will open a poll to the community where you can vote on your favorite idea.

Thank you,
Marco

I think a "Hot Items" section might be nice. Showing a few items or group of items that are high in price and possibly still rising. Also give a reason why they are so readers can make their own judgments on whether or not to purchase those d bones to train prayer or if they should hold out until Such-and-Such happens.

Also, I think a Prospect column might be good as well. A little section of items that you think MIGHT POSSIBLY rise or would be a good investment for the future. Not buyout clans, just a little insight. But don't forget to include a disclaimer each week just in case one of your prospects takes a bad turn. You know there are going to be those ignorant assholes who will flame you because for some mysterious reasons your suggestions forced them against their own will to buy a mass amount of whatever item it is. Therefore, if they lose money they will think it's your fault.

But yeah, I think those are a couple ideas you might be able to work with. Do with them what you wish. Hope this helps.

i would go with a segment using excel to keep track of bank items, or possibly google docs since it can import from the ge. also using excel to make trackers for herbs and other skills.

Reader questions.

It would be awful neat to see something like that implemented. XD

Heh, I'll edit the post as well.

Umm, like the UPDATE!, people could send in questions, and you try to answer them.
It could be a matter of tracking of items, asking for advice, and so on, if that's a type of thing that could work.

You could compile a program to tell us stock exchange stuff. Like I know that RS Wiki has a value of all rune items and they have a "Rune items: +5% yesterday" type of thing on there site. That would be pretty cool

I am still looking for a few more ideas to consider before making a poll for this. Poll will be out sometime between the weekend and midweek.

I'd like to see overviews of common skilling resources and information on how someone could use the current prices to make a quick bit of money.
(i.e. buying mithril ore and coal to make mithril bars for a small profit)

Presuming the questions to writers is open to all the Informer staff, not just Marco, I know Ryan and I would be very interested in doing an interview type thing, maybe together or seperate. Definately something to look into in my opinion.

Yeah I liked the idea of reader questions or interviews or whatever. I guess it would depend on the sort of questions asked though, means as each informer member specializes in different things.

What would be cool if someone would create a program that stored the prices for a number of idems that you select.
So I sign in with my current Rsbandb username and password. Then this program gives me all the prices for the idems I have selected. Lets say the idem I have selected is Dragon Plate legs because I am merching them. This program would then tell me how much they have gone up or down from the time that i first added them along with other useful information that I could use to better my runescape expericance.

I'm not sure... Just somthing to think about.

Interviews would be pretty interesting. I think Brad interviewed Shane and Mike for the informer a long time ago and it was interesting to read.
