Monkey Madness For Pures!

Share this guide if you want as long as you give credit to me.

So you're level 1 defence and level 1 prayer?

You think 'wtf how do these guys do this quest with no prayer or defence?'

I'll tell you.

I've done Monkey Madness a total of 5 times, 3 of those times I had 1 defence and 1 prayer.

I will only be going through the hardest parts, and they consist of-

The Tunnel
The Wall of Flames
The Demon.

The only skills I would recommend is 50+ Ranged and 40+ Hp and 45 Magic (I'll explain why later) a high agility would help aswell.

The Tunnel

Most people will think that this is the hardest part of the quest.
That is a load of horse manure! If you think about it, the tunnel is quite easy.

All you have to do is... Run! Its as simple as that, Get some energy/super energy potions and just run through. Whenever you lose 1/3 of your total hp, eat.

Recommended Inventory
Quest items:
Monkey Dentures
Gold Bar
Other Items:
Super Anti/Anti Poison Potion (4 Dose)
4 Super Energy potions/ 6 Regular Energy Potions(4 Dose)
1 Law Rune (For Camelot Teleport if you think you're going to die.)
Fill the rest of your inventory with sharks

Recommended Gear (For 1 Defence)
Iron Full Helm
Iron Platebody
Iron Platelegs/Dragonhide Chaps (The best you can wear)
Boots of Lightness/Iron Boots(If you haven't done Temple Of Ikov)
Dragonhide Vambraces (The best you can wear.)
Gnome Amulet(For Defence Boost)
Iron Kiteshield/Saradomin Book
Air Staff (For Camelot Teleport)
Ring Of Life

Heres what your gear and inventory should look like.
Image
^Unfortunatly my saradomin book is still damaged so I added the 8's
I accidently put a super restore there, that should be a Super anti poison

Strategy: When you first enter make sure you're not poisoned. Everytime I entered the tunnel I was poisoned because of that jungle spider lurking outside. Drink your Super Anti poison or Regular and start running.

Whenever you lose 20-25 Hp eat a shark. When you're at max hp click an area of the mini-map to run to and then check your energy. This is vital because if you run out. You will be getting hit so you have to watch your Hp, drink a dose, go to the tools menu and click run again. Then take another couple of doses, eat a shark and continue running.

For the skeletons, if you get hit 12/12/12 etc. Just eat eat eat - run - eat some more. You should be fine, the skeletons don't hit that hard anyway.

And that is pretty much that for the tunnel. Just speak to Zooknook, give him the bar and monkey dentures.

The Wall of Flames

This is no-doubt the hardest part if you're level 1 defence and prayer.
It is also the shortest of the three.

Recommended Inventory

Image

Simple enough, a couple of energy potions to be safe, an anti poison potion. Your quest items and fill the rest with sharks (Those gorillas hit hard.)

Gear: Same as tunnel

Strategy: Wait outside the Monkey Temple and try to seek a way through the guards.

When you finally find one. Run like hell and eat. Watch out as the bearded guards won't allow you to pass them, you will have to find a way around them. There is a safe spot to catch your breath if you can't get around them. Go to the corner around the flames coming through the holes. Keep trying, there is a way around. If all else fails and you're low on food. Teleport, restock and try again.

Note: This part will be much easier with a friend leading the way distracting most of the guards.

Once you get down the trapdoor, this is the most dangerous part. As the screen fades out you're already down there when it fades back in so the Zombie monkeys are already attacking you.

This got me down to about 3-4hp and I was thinking "Holy ****" When it fades in... Eat like hell. Just click on whats left of your sharks and pray to god you will make it.

Go to the flames and smelt your enchanted bar. (You will get some crafting experience :D)

Teleport out of there and give yourself a pat on the back.

The Demon

Recommended gear

Best ranging outfit
With Rune Arrows

Recommended inventory

Amulet of Glory (To replace the sigil)
5 Airs
1 Law
Ranging Potion
Sharks

Strategy:

When you equip your sigil, you shall be teleported to the arena. You, along with the gnomes will spawn at a certain place.

Make a dash for the bridge and run across to the cliff. Make sure you eat as the demon hits hard (Max 30)

Go down towards the gnomes and the Demon will follow. The gnomes will start attacking the Demon hitting 1's and 2's quite often. This is a long yet relieving process. Make sure you're in a position so that you can see the its' health. When its quite low, pot up, click the special bar, and attack the Demon. If you don't kill it run back, and either wait for another special. Or just heal up and run and take a shot.

Once you've killed it. Go and talk to the King and congratulations.

I hope this guide helped you.

I will be happy to answer any questions.

Personally, I don't think you need anti-poisons that much 8-[ When I did it (with the help of AlexTommo's video 8) ) I only used a 2 dose vial of normal anti poison. I used monkfish too. I think I used about 100 at bare minimum though.

I thought the hardest part would be the demon but after I did it the part with the M'amulet was definately the hardest. It took me about two hours to get past that spot.

Anyway, nice resourceful guide you got there Alex. 5/5

Although I am not a pure, this guide has helped me. I used to think that I wasn't worthy of killing the jungle demon, so I did the quest and stopped right before I got the sigil, and was waiting for a cannon. I looked at your guide and thought, "If someone with 0 defence and 0 prayer can do this, then, I can do this, because I have 60 defence and 59 prayer!"

So i go there with my karamja greegree and 10 prayer potion(4)'s, my magic short bow, my full red and my ranger set, I brought about 70 addy arrows, 50 mithril, and at least 2000 steel arrows, along with tons of swordies.

I used about: 70 addy arrows, 10 mithril, 5 doses of prayer potion, no food.

And I thought, "Wow, that was easy."
