Post subject: | A Fairy Tale Part II - A Cure for the Queen |
Requirements: - 57 herblore (yikes) - 49 farming - 40 theiving - Ability to fight a level 145 foe that uses melee and saps health, even with prayer on (go all-out and beat them fast) - The completion of A Fairy Tale - Part I Items Needed: - Dramen Staff - Mortar and Pestle - A piece of paper (Real-Life) and pen/pencil to write down notes and visited teleport locations. - A vial of water (you can bring multiples for multiple potions) - Armor and food Teleports Used: - None, but I used the Fairy Ring a lot. Difficulty and Length: - Medium, and quite difficult if you're not patient. If you can beat down a level 145 who neglects the usage of prayer, you'll be fine. Start Location: - Talk to Martin the Master Gardener in Draynor - Same guy you start Part I with. ___________________________ Like every quest is done, you start off by talking to someone. In this case, head to Draynor and speak to Martin. ![]() If you talk to him a second time, you'll be told to wait a while for his vegetables to grow. Wait for them to finish - maybe pickpocket him or something while you wait. Anyways, after about 5 minutes, he'll yell at you saying that even more plants are dying then normal. Something's wrong. Grab your dramen staff and have a chat with Fairy Nuff. ![]() ... or can you? Someone's trashed the cave and Fairy nuff and Queen are nowhere to be seen! Searching the place won't recover anything, so take the healing certificate. If you search it, you get this wierd pattern on the back: ![]() Talk to the Fairy godfather. ![]() He will tell you that the kidnapper of the Fairy Queen must have used the Fairy Rings to escape with the Fairy Queen. If you speak to the coordinater just outside his ... room, she'll explain the Fairy Rings. Apparently, you'll need a special 3-digit code to teleport to the right location. However, you don't have any coordinates for the Fairy Ring that you know might lead you to the Fairy Queen and Nuff. So for now, let's try and figure out what the markings on the back of the healing certificate mean instead. Perhaps it's a clue to the coordinates? ![]() If you show the certificate to the Fairy Chef, she'll mention that she had seen similar markings near the cosmic altar. Showing it to the door guards, coordinator, cows, and sheep won't help. ![]() Now, here's the trick. The sign says "Cosmic Rune Altar", so get out some paper and transfer the symbols to match the lettering. Then you can use that to decipher the code on the certificate. Here's a 'hint': ![]() If you don't want to solve puzzles and just wanna do the quest (how boring), then the deciphered code reads: ![]() "The Godfather attacked us! We have fled to safety. If you are loyal to her majesty, find us by using coordinates AIR DLR DJQ AJS". Jump onto the Fairy Ring next to the fountains and start entering the codes in that order: The AIR will lead you to a desert island with a tree. Teleport back. The DLR will lead you to an island in the tar pits. Teleport back. The DJQ will teleport you to ... a few feet away. Wow. Return to the portal. If you do it wrong, the AJS will lead you to an island with some penguins. Once inputted correctly, AJS will send you to somewhere else. Inside, you'll find another place similar to Zanaris, except there are fairies here! Talk to them and they'll say the Godfather attacked them all. Fairy Nuff is in the northeastern-most cavern. Speak to her for an update on recent events. ![]() After a chat with Fairy Very Wise (Get it?), you'll hit upon a plan: pickpocket the godfather, return the secaturs to the Queen, and wake her up. Return to Zanaris. After running past a number of well-planned orks, pickpocket the Godfather. I'm level 79 theiving, and got it instantly, so it was basically run-in, touch, run-out. Return to Fairy Nuff immediately. After a brag, give Fairy nuff the secaturs. ![]() Oh no! It didn't work! But all hope is not yet lost. You can try to ressurect her with a potion of Magic Essence (which, if you drink, boosts your magic like a mini-magic potion). You need 2 ingredients: A Star Flower and a Gorak claw. The only way to access these areas is to use the Fairy Ring. To do that, you must try different combinations, because I have no idea how you're supposed to figure this out otherwise. However, after perhaps an hour of searching: - Star Flower - Try CKP ![]() - Gorak's claw (ground with mortar and pestle) - Try DIR - Beware of highlevel monsters. If you have a bow, you can shoot them from the safety of the Fairy Ring. Take one step moutside, though, and you'll become the hunted. ![]() Once you got the ingredients and made the potion, teleport back (yes, enter those 4 coordinates AGAIN) and use the potion on the Fairy Queen. ![]() SHE LIVES! Speak to her for your reward. ![]() QUEST COMPLETE! She'll give you an XP lamp. Rub it and select a skill. You'll get 2500 exp. As a bonus, you can use that Fairy Ring as much as you want. Here's a list of teleports I found while experimenting. If anyone else has any others to add, please do so. List of teleport coordinates: CKS - Near the bittercap mushroom patch in Morytania AKS - Feldep Hills DJP - Necromancer's, near Ardougne BKQ - A neat woods place with Dryads and Centars. Whever you try to chop a tree, a tree spirit random event appears! ALR - An abyss with leeches and abyssal demons! And guess what - no skull or prayer drain! Certainly closer to a bank, too! CKR - Karamja jungle. And it's not very far from the nature altar either ... BJQ - The place you get the Holy Grail form AIQ - The mogre-fighting place DKR - Across the river from Edgeville Cheers! |

Very nice guide.... So correct me if I'm wrong, the rings can be used to teleport to the listed places, with unlimited uses? And all on one ring? |

Great guide, I did it with 56 Herblore and a GreenMan's ale. And apparently you can use Spicy stew as well. (random stat +2) |
