**********************************************************l l**********************************************************l l********UFRUBNUCKLES ZMI GUIDE******l l**********************************************************l l**********************************************************l INTRODUCTION: I'm writing this basic page so this guide can also help players unfamiliar with ZMI. LOCATION OF ZMI: Find the Observatory on the map just north of Castle Wars. Use a "Ring of Dueling" to teleport to Castle Wars. Zmi is located north of the Observatory and west of the "Battlefield" on the map. It is near a small hunting area for red salamanders. Hill giants are also fairly nearby. Find the alter close to here and go down the trapdoor. LEVEL REQUIREMENTS: It is commonly accepted that you should begin ZMI at between levels 65-75 to minimize costs. At level 75, assuming you buy your own pure essense, you will break even on cost. You can do ZMI at any runecrafting level. EQUIPMENT AND INVENTORY: Equipment: Helm: Armadyl Helmet>Bear Head Neck: Amulet of Glory Chest: Agile Shirt>Armadyl Chestplate>Karil's Top>Black Dhide Legs: Agile Legs>Armadyl Leggings>Karil's Skirt>Black leggings Boots: Boots of Lightness Ring: Ring of Dueling>Seer's Ring Gloves: Regeneration Bracelet>Penance Gloves>Dark Gloves Cape: Runecrafting Cape (or spottier cape I guess ) Weapon: Mud Staff>Earth Staff Shield: Spectral Shield>Blessed Spirit Shield>Mind Shield Inventory: 1. Giant Pouch (G) 2. Large Pouch (L) 3. Unnoted Essence (E) 4. Stack of Fire Runes for banking (F) 5. Stack of Astral Runes (optional) (A) I arrange my inventory like this diagram: GEEE LEEE EEEE EEEE EEEE EEEE FAEE ************************************************************* Using peoples statistics I carefully sorted each segment involved with running ZMI. If you do not agree with one of the timings let me know. I have segmented it to also show the sections that will pretty much never change in regards to timing! This way you can substitute different data into the models and customize it to your own faster or slower times. Remember to measure your *own* results in regards to ZMI...you may bank or craft faster or slower. ************************************************************* Constant Data: Zmi bank to Runecrafting Alter.......26 seconds Ourania Teleport to ZMI Bank........14 seconds Total Constant Timing...................40 seconds Runecrafting Alter to Dark Mage......60 seconds Note: The Zmi banker wanders around, and the ourania teleport randomizes your teleport spot, so these are my best estimates of time. *********************************************************** Variable Data: Banking: 4 pouches: 17 seconds 2 pouches: 7 seconds *********************************************************** Hopefully this guide helps you. *********************************************************** I do not claim to be the fastest ZMI Runner, or an expert on runecrafting. This guide would not of been possible without some of my runecrafting friends contributions. *********************************************************** CHECK OUT MY RANGE GUIDE TO END ALL OTHER RANGE GUIDES http://forums.rsbandb.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=75959 *********************************************************** |

The two pouch method is only good for those who find they can't runecraft for long periods of time with the 4 pouch. The 4 pouch method gives at least 10k exp an hour more. Also to stop the banker from moving, left click on him first before you bank. As long as you dont click away from him, he will stay in one spot while you bank the three times. Using a familiar is also very important with ZMI. You pay 180gp every time you bank so you might as well get the most bang for your buck. 7 more essence for no more banks are a good deal. And for 4 pouch arrangement, I was able to empty at max speeds using this arrangement: EEEE EEEE EEEE EEEE SEEE MLGE EEEF The 6th row trick is much easier to empty pouches with (when you right click on the 6th row, your mouse hovers over 'empty pouch') unless you use mouskeys. Even then, you would use mousekeys to withdraw pure essence quicker, not to empty pouches (but that's a different story). You have an ok foundation for a guide, but it's a bit incomplete... |

When I did ZMI from 75-99, I devised my own little tricks and methods that involved all of the pouches. Perhaps give more of a variety of pouch and inventory layouts. In all honesty, adding the medium and small pouches tacks on an extra 3 seconds at the most. While runecrafting, every experience point counts so it's just something you might want to take into consideration. Also, try to incorporate some pictures. The thing that "bothered" me the most was trying to decode your inventory layout. It would be a lot easier and streamlined if you had some visuals. Overall, good guide though. |
