As far as the S&M reference by Jagex in the quest, I really don't see it as that big of a deal. It was just a one-liner along the lines of "Sorry, Runescape is not that sort of fantasy game." There's no avocation, no graphic suggestions - it wasn't even a necessary part in the quest. I didn't even encounter the thought until I saw it on Runewiki. Was it necessary, no, but it does absolutely no harm and doesn't scar any kids for life.
