This week marks our third anniversary! This week we had an interesting discussion on World War I plane creators, the new quest, lots of listener questions, Apple’s WWDC, and a few interesting rants. Here’s to another year. Direct Download - 64 Kbit MP3 Show Notes Please don't post things like, "will edit later" when you are downloading. These posts are considered spam and will be deleted. |

Great show guys and a good 3 year anniversary. As for junk trading, it makes sense if it's done right, though yes you still have to accumulate junk. The bit that seemingly got missed is, well, junk items are junk, by which we mean "unsellable". Take just after the GE came out, if i wanted to give somebody a whip for nothing, we could junk trade. Back then, iron bars where, say 100 each, and iron lantern frames for some reason where 2k each. So if my friend bought 1k iron bars, and smithed them into lantern frames, he has 2m worth of stuff per ge prices. But of course, he would never in a million years sell them, yet he very, very quickly, faster than any money making method, turned 100k into 2m. That's the concept of junk, though there are lots of other systems to do it (there's also an ongoing race between traders and jagex, the traders finding out holes in the ge like that, and jagex patching them up, black (p) botls was the latest 'nerf' i think). Other things include, if you get say, a gilded dresser from a treasure trail. You'll never sell it in a million years, but it's "worth" 200k on the GE. Though of course that's bad for accumulating, people do have items like that they don't know what to do with. Then again, there are people who don't understand the concept of junk trading, and will add 1m worth of "junk" that isn't junk really. Also, there's summoning scrolls. Sure thye probably cost more to make whe ntraining, but ltos of people have masses of useless ones with surprisingly high GE values, and they're commonly used. That being said, i've never junk traded, but it's interesting to keep track on how things work. Just thought i'd explain that since the point seems a little lost. Anyway, good show and keep it up, in the year i've been listening i've never had one without a giggle :] |
