Well Pika is still studying hard at school stuff so I'm here again with Brad this week. Trekkie was also able to take some time off to join us on this fine episode.
  • The Quest Help System, currently in beta, and will give 4 hints a day out.
  • Listener Questions! (Lots)
  • The highest end desktop processors, previously named Extreme Edition, will be labeled as Core 2 Extreme opposed to the mainstream Core 2 Duo. The desktop chip will be named Conroe, set to deliver in July 2006, while Merom while be followed in August 2006. This is of course relating to Intel news. Daily Tech Article
  • PS 3 info has surfaced. Much like the Xbox 360, the PS3? will come in two flavors: a tricked out system for US$599 and one with fewer features for US$499 (Europeans will pay €599 and €499). The more expensive system will include a 2.5" 60GB hard drive, 4 USB 2.0 ports, a memory card reader, built-in 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, support for HD displays up to 1080i and 1080p, one HDMI output, AV output, and digital optical output. In contrast the cheaper system has a 20GB hard drive, loses the memory card reader, the WiFi? support, and here's the biggie, the HDMI output. "Sony also showed off the PS3?'s new controller, which to no one's surprise, no longer looks like a postmodern Australian aboriginal hunting implement. Instead, it looks a lot like the current PS2? controller except that it is silver instead of the familiar black. Aside from that, the button layout appears to be identical to its predecessor." ArsTechnica Story
  • Hardware specs for the Wii have surfaced as well! Media: A single self-loading media bay will play single- or double-layered 12-centimeter optical discs for Wii, as well as 8-centimeter Nintendo GameCube? discs.

Virtual Console: Wii will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The Virtual Console also will feature a "best of" selection from Sega Genesis titles and games from the TurboGrafx console (a system jointly developed by NEC and Hudson). It also will be home to new games conceived by indie developers whose creativity is larger than their budgets.

  • There was supposed to be MacBooks released on Tuesday but that never happened. "Apple Insider is claiming Apple has moved back the announcement to coincide with "changes to the company's iPod line." What is a rumor-monger to believe? We have been promised an iPhone for months now, and with new nanos supposedly on the horizon, we really aren't sure what to believe." ArsTechnica Article

PS3 definatly took the 360's idea. I doubt that they were gonna make 2 consels at first. In my eyes the 360 is still better just because its Microsoft. Sony isnt that good anymore while Microsoft just keeps makin computers. Sony just makes DVD players, CD Players, MP3 Players...etc
