Post subject:  Episode 45 - Battle Tortosies

This week we got Chris and Drew on the show. Here is what we talked about:
  • Pure essence now craftable on free servers because of last weeks bug...
  • Wilderness update, featuring a new volcano, some castles, and lava fields.
  • Teleportation portals, randomly move you about that area. Everything in the immediate area goes.
  • Don't rely on them to get you out of trouble!
  • Battle Tortoises as an addition to the npc vs. npc battle at the stronghold. Kill them and get their shells
  • What is the point of npc vs. npc battles? View Picture
  • More pest control adjustments... Oh Joy!
  • You must deal at least 50 points of damage in order to get the point if you win.
  • Each time you repair a defence that is worth 5pts.
  • Level 40 combat minimum now.
  • If more than 25 people board the boat, those left behind will have priority
  • You will later be able to buy equipment that the void night wears.
  • Should we have public beta servers for new updates?
  • Wilderness tag delayed for this: "We felt that it could do with adjustments to make it enjoyable enough to meet your high standards."
  • Listener Questions
  • Microsoft is releasing an update through their automatic update system in the US that determines whether or not a user is running with pirated software. "This copy of Windows is not genuine; you may be a victim of software counterfeiting" This is a pilot project and currently is "opt in" So more ms spying trying to keep us all on legitimate copies. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/security ... acy_p.html
  • Seagate has announced a 760GB hard drive, that is .75 TB. It is a 7200Rpm SATA drive, avalible with 8MB or 16MB cache. Previously the biggest hard drive was 500GB. High capacity drives like this require 2 drive bays, this has already been in use on the powermac G5. Shane wants one of these. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060426-6684.html
  • Apple has released the 17 inch macbook pro. It is powered by the 2.16Ghz Core Duo. Less than 7lbs. They say it is 5x faster than its old PPC counterpart. This is definately a machine that someone with deep pockets will buy. $3299CAD $2799US http://www.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?s ... 1000234VYP
  • The Rants
  • Remember you can send questions to questions@rsbandb.com if they are audio they should be in wav or mp3 format.

    Theme 1

Good show! I think the theme should be left alone, both of those songs are sort of lame.

Great show. I like the second jazzy theme :)

I haven't listened yet... I'll get around to it as always.

As far as the themes... does a 'jazz' theme really fit a show that is primarily listened to by teenagers and younger?

Anyway, why bother changing the theme. Unless someone has complained about it, there's nothing wrong with it. It's fine.
