Hi all, I had a crazy idea in the shower today. I wanted to see what our video game community who are way nerdier than i am can come up with. So here's my experiment. you and your friends just won lottery drawing at your local electronic store. You are all given $1000, $2000 and you got the grand prize of $7,000. you are given the chance to completely build your own super computer from the future and allowed to completely make your gaming station the most powerful on the block. With the amount that you were given what could you build to use up every last penny and make your rig as powerful as you can? Assume mouse, keyboard, speakers, headset were given to you as a gift for winning. You can buy monitor(s), the tower, multiple computer towers if you want etc but you must use up as much of the winning for each place as you can. Have fun ![]() |

My build includes an OS + monitors. And also a lot of parts inside of a massive tower. Granted, water cooling would probably be the way to go at a $7k rig, but pricing that out seems to be more of a pain than I'm willing to deal with for this thought experiment. Plus, this is all about performance, not about the coolest looking in the end! Basic specs - 2 x 6-core Intel Xeon CPUs, 64GB 2400Mhz RAM, 2 x 1TB SSDs, 2 x 3TB HDDs, 2 x GTX Titan Black GPUs, 2 x 2560x1440 IPS displays. Note that this also uses a 1KW (or 1000W, for all of us normal people who use normal numbers) power supply... So hopefully that extra $6.76 (before the $20 rebate and $9.99 shipping costs kick in) will last for a day of reasonable use. Without further adieu...The awesomeness that is PCPartPicker!
