I posted this in the sandbox because I don't want the **** bots reading it. Im thinking about buying a TV season on DVD, because I want the DVD. Will handbrake divide each episode into its own file? Or will it just go by disk? Will I need to edit with iMovie? Thanks |

From what I can tell, it was moved because it had discussion value, which is generally more useful outside of the sandbox. Regarding the initial question, it depends on the DVD. If the DVD has episodes split into separate video files, which seems to be fairly common, then yes you should be able to rip episodes individually. If it's a poorly made DVD, it will be one file (Video_TS) that has essentially bookmarks within the one file that allows the DVD player to skip to individual episodes. If this is the case, then you'll have to figure out how to split the file after the fact to get single files. |

I've found that MKV video files maintain good enough quality to watch and aren't as bulky as AVI. |

But this is the theoretical show I was theoretically speaking about. ![]() |
