Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a new mouse for my computer soon. I do not want one that has a trackball for the "input" method, and I would prefer a wired mouse. What kind of mice you do guys have? What mice would you recommend? Thanks, -hunt |

I have a Razer Deathadder. It works very well for being fairly cheap and I know a few other people that have one and enjoy it. |

I've got the Sidewinder X5 from Microsoft. Unfortunately it looks like they've either stopped producing their SideWinder line, or they're going to release a new series soon... I've enjoyed mine for the past few years. Nice ergonomics for my hand, and it's held up to ~3-4 years of use so far without fail. Sorting by high scoring reviews on Newegg, it looks like Logitech has quite a few options. I believe Shane uses some type of Logitech mouse, and seeing as there is one at the top of Newegg's reviews, I'm guessing they're probably worth a look. |

I wanted a wired mouse, too. I also needed one that was large enough for my big hand. The DeathAdder fit the bill perfectly. There are also two side buttons to make web surfing and gaming easier. I've had mine for almost three years and it hasn't failed me yet. |

I use quite a few:
I also have two more of the Comfort Optical's in storage for whenever they die. It's a great mouse, it's my go to basic wired mouse. |

I have this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... &Tpk=logitech%20g300 it's easily affordable and hasn't given me any troubles. Had it for about 6 months now and I still love it. |

I've used the Logitech MX518 for 8 years now. Unfortunately they stopped making it, but mine still works great. I think the closest equivalent to that now is the Logitech G400. |

A basic mouse gets the job done for me, but I thought I would spice it up a big. I don't need a gaming mouse so much because I only play RS and Minecraft on my computer. -hunt |

I haven't actually tried to program a button to a function button but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'll test it out when I get the chance to and let you know for sure, and just so you know the "nine programmable buttons" also includes the left, right, and middle standard mouse buttons. Update: Yes you can program function buttons. |

After looking into all of the ones posted here, I'm down to these four: the Mircosoft Habu, the Logitech Marathon Mouse M705, the GIGABYTE GM-M6800, and the RAZER DeathAdder. My thoughts and feelings on each one: Microsoft Habu: +Awesome Design - I love the way this mouse looks +The nine buttons seem like something that I would like +Wired -Expensive - $59.99 Logitech M705 Marathon Mouse: +Good for browsing the web +Nice, smooth scrolling wheel +Long battery life ~Relatively cheap - $37.99 ~Wireless -I constantly hit the back and forward buttons while in use (I used a friend's M705 a while back; my hands are bigger now) GIGABYTE GM-M6800: +CHEAP! - $13.99 +Good Reviews +Wired ~Not sure if buttons are programmable -Will probably end up hitting the back and forward buttons on this one too RAZER DeathAdder: +Amazing design - on par with the Habu +The 5 customizable buttons are just what I'm looking for +Customizable sensitivity +Wired -No real setbacks here beside the price - $59.99 My aunt said that she wanted to get me a gift for my birthday coming up soon, and I think a new mouse would be a nice gift. With that in mind, I need to think about pricing on these, along with what is above. My aunt and I are closer than most aunt-nephew relationships, so money isn't TOO big of an issue. If I had to rank these in order of favorite to least favorite, I think it would go: T1 - Microsoft Habu T1 - RAZER DeathAdder 3 - GIGABYTE GM-M6800 4 - Logitech M705 Marathon Mouse Thoughts? Thanks for all the help guys! -hunt |

Update; I decided to get the Deathadder. So far it seems good. It is fast and responsive, only bad thing is that sometimes it will kind of glitch out and "twitch" a little, for lack of a better word. I think this may fix itself after I install driver software. -hunt |

"Twitching" might be due to something in the path of the laser / light, either inside the mouse housing or on the mouse pad. Maybe once every two months or so I'll have a strand of hair get into the mouse, and I've got to pull out the tweezers to yank it out. I haven't had it happen in ages, but I've had issues with the plastic-topped mouse pads and mice "twitching." I've used a cloth-topped mouse pad for as long as I can remember, so this generally isn't an issue for me. |

I use a Cyborg RAT 7, which is wired and really adaptable both shape and function wise. I like the look of it too. But not cheap. ![]() |

Despite the weird look of the RAT 7, I heard it's actually very comfortable. |
