well it is has been 2 years since i've had my android and it is now time for an upgrade. i do love my android and it has a built in keyboard. but now it is time to upgrade and the problem now is no phone from verizon has a keyboard anymore. there is only one phone that has a keyboard and that is basically an upgraded version of the one i have. it is only 3G so the speed is not all there. in terms of usage it is the same with some other functions. almost all other phones are all only touchscreen and no keyboard anywhere. i like having a keyboard because it gives precision and i don't have to worry about auto correct crap. so i am in a conundrum, either i just keep my regular phone considering i would basically be paying for a nicer looking phone, or cave in and go touchscreen only with a 4G phone. Recommendations? P.S i hate Iphone so don't bother suggesting it. |

If you are going to go touchscreen only, download Swype. |

If you're going for the best of the best, the Nexus Prime should be released exclusively on Verizon in a few weeks.. Finding a phone with a keyboard on Verizon will probably be hard, just due to Verizon being one of the only two worthwhile CDMA carriers in the world. For the GSM carriers, you could just swap a SIM card and use mostly anyone, which would theoretically give you a larger pool of phones to choose from. |

Trekkie be a trekkie. Accept touch, pretend you're using an LCARS based system ![]() Oh and we'll talk about the iPhone later. Do what Paul said. |

See if you can find a phone you want elsewhere and then tag on a Verizon package? I don't know if that's possible, but it's worth a shot. I agree that keyboards are much better than touchscreen. Being a big guy an all, my hands are just too large and I end up hitting two letters every time I try to type. Keyboards are much easier to work with in my opinion. Try to find the phone you want, but it not, you'll probably have to go touchscreen in the end. |

I’m jealous of you all. I still do not own a “real” cell phone, we only have a prepaid tracfone that we only use for emergencies, otherwise we still use a land-line, which now is technically a VOIP phone since it goes through our cable company. Our phone package has unlimited long distance, voicemail, caller id, etc, for $25 a month. With our limited budget, I just can’t find a cell phone package out there that can come close to that. I rarely ever talk on the phone anyway and don’t have to be connected to the world 24 hours a day, but still would love to get one just because I love to keep up with the latest in technology. Years ago in the 90’s when mobile phones were first hitting the market, I almost got one. These were the massive phones that looked like military style walkie talkie’s. ![]() |

^ get itouch and pretend it's an iphone ![]() anyway duke, i went to the verizon store and they only had that model with the keyboard. kinda stinks :/ and i like to clip my phone on my belt and if it's too big it would look like i have a cancer growing on my hip. and shane, keep in mind that the PADD was a cheap piece of plastic with a sticker on it. |
