Well having a sumer job did pay off a bit plus my b-day is coming up sp I"ll have some extra cash floating around I decided to build an entirely new machine just for my own personal use and leave my older (current computer) to use for the family. Here are the specs guys, tell me what you think and if/why should I change some parts: CPU Motherboard Video Card Ram Hard Drive Sound Card Power Supply Case Monitor Keyboard/Mice All of it pretty much comes down to $1300 which is perfect for my budget, if you would like to suggest new parts make sure to try to keep them in the same/close price range. |

Well it seems like a good combination, it looks a lot like my own PC. The graphics card is better than what I got, though I got an I7-processor. Since I'm able to run almost every game on the highest settings, you'll probably be able to do the same. Perhaps you can look into upgrading your RAM, unless you're getting a 32-bit operating system. |

That looks like a good setup. You should be able to play all current games on the highest settings with that. I have that same monitor. The speakers on it blow (obviously), but it's nice that it has a speaker out port on it so you can use an hdmi cord to get sound to the monitor and have some real speakers plugged into it. Why do you have a sound card? Motherboard soundcards are quite good. You might want to opt for a wired mouse and keyboard instead. If your mouse and keyboard aren't going anywhere, wireless is pointless and more of an annoyance with it losing signal sometimes or batteries dying. You really don't want wireless if you are using it for gaming. |

Good motherboard pick with the fanless north/south bridge. You'll get your money's worth out of the graphics card, it's at a good price point right now. Ram you can cheap out on for now (unless your a super user who loves 5+ programs and tonnes of tabs running). I'm really unsure why you have a sound card. Maybe your part of the 0.01% of the population that can tell the difference between on board and a dedicated sound card. Wired is the way to go for keyboards & mice for a desktop; It's less hassle with no need to replace batteries. Overall, the whole thing is very good. Looks like you tried to max out everything. The processor can be upgraded to an i7 if you would like. With all this put together, this thing is going to produce a lot of heat and thus, like everyone has said in the above posts, a fan is critical. One thing i have to add is, its usually the video cards that come with fans soo check that out. Hope this helped! |
