I'd like to start off by saying hey to everyone, it's been a while. Here's the deal, I got the Sprint 4G Evo etc etc ... and my first couple videos that I took are sideways because I didn't really understand what I was doing at first. I want to upload these videos to youtube and facebook because they are of my friend's 21st birthday and well I can't just reshoot them right side up. What I've done so far so you won't suggest it is: +Opened up the video in quicktime (system suggested program) audio works but unable to rotate 90 degrees +Downloaded windows essentials movie maker (didn't work - wouldn't play the sound of the vid) +Downloaded the windows essentials codec pack the would cure my issue (didn't work) +Reviewed some 3GPP movie players but the reviews were terrible so I didn't download anything I came to you all because you all are the experts and I trust your answers. All I want to do is turn the video 90 degrees to the right. Easy enough right ... <3cstasies |

If you happen to have Quicktime Pro, you can export the video in a different format using Quicktime itself. Basically anything that you export it as (just a .mov or .mp4 file is preferable) will be able to be used in another application like Movie Maker. If you don't have Quicktime Pro then try Googling "Free 3GP video converter" etc; there's an abundance of tacky Windows media converters out there which all tend to do the trick so take a look and you're bound to find something. ![]() |

Handbrake can do the conversion to another format, and VLC Player can do the turning, but I don't know how to combine the two. VLC Can export/convert, but I'm not sure if it can export a flipped version of the current video. In video options you can rotate the image then play it correct-side-up, but I don't know if the rotation will hold when you convert. Anyway, both are free, so give 'em a shot. |

After finding out the Quicktime Pro would do a conversion that would work with movie maker, I just used google to find out how to get Quicktime Pro, once that was had, I ran it through movie maker and turned it 90 degrees. But ... when I went to go save it, it only saves in Windows Live Movie Maker Project (.wlmp) format ... this is annoying. Anyone know how to save it as a different format or do I just need to run it through Quicktime Pro again? Thanks for the replies. <3cstasies |
