Ok, get this, my uncle is a computer techie and he hooked up 4 AirStream Quad cores running about 4 Ghz each and overclocked them about 400% each, thats around 16 Ghz each. so, 16 x 4 is 64, fo hes running about 64 - 65 Ghz if my math is right. Crazy, eh? What all of you think? |

Good for ******* and giggles. It's really too bad that modern operating systems can't utilise more than one at a time. Even most applications don't do more than 2, some don't even do one... Your calculation of 64GHz is correct, however, the program in question would have to be threaded to properly handle 16 cores. What this basically means is that the program would have to be told it can be doing more than one or two things at a time. Multi-core is the future. It holds important keys for the future of virtualisation (expect an Informer article on this later in July). |

Hmm. It feels like multiple cores are the future, but I also think that our current operating systems and softwares are way behind of latest hardware stuff.. ![]() |
