The Pirate Bay was bought by a company named Global Gaming Factory X for around $8 million. They're going to do a total change of everything, removing the tracker and using a third party service, no longer hosting files on their servers, and giving compensation to copyright holders. There's a reason why they've now added the option to remove yourself as a user. I expect their following to drop off quite a bit, and other sites that are already out there will pick up the slack. Shame to see them go like this. |
