Ya, so I got my new PC, and it's great. The only issue, well issues, are that alot of my stuff won't work with 64 bit. So is there any way to go back to 32 bit? Is it possible I could contact Microsoft and they could downgrade my OS or give me some kind of patch? I really don't want to spend hundreds of dollars to do things in 64bit, when I'm not gaining much benefit from 64 bit over 32 bit. |

To go back to a 32-bit OS, you'll have to reinstall entirely. If you've got a DVD, it probably came with all of the versions on it, so you can reinstall with the same product key that activated your x64 install as long as you use the same version (Business, Home Premium, etc). You can use anyone's DVD of course, as long as you can access the correct version of the OS. |

Also, If I make a backup of an XP system, could I use that to install it as a dual boot? Also, my computer didn't come with any DVD's. I called HP and asked if they could send me the DVD's and they said that would void my warrenty. ![]() edit: So could I borrow a friends Vista installation DVD's and activate them? |
