Does anyone know if there's a Firefox addon that speeds up upload times? Ive seen addons that help speedup downloads, but not uploads.
Any help would be appreciated

No. Such an addon isn't possible. There's no way for a server to know what you'll be sending them. I'm going to guess you're talking about file uploading seeing as most standard HTTP GET requests aren't overly large and the standard user won't see them. The way download accelerators work is by caching the contents somewhere closer to you or at a server with a faster connection. That's how they appear to make things faster. As I said above this isn't possible because servers would not know what you're sending. Also, don't mess around with TCP/IP optimizers. The TCP/IP stack of any modern OS (XP/Vista/7/X) is already pre-optimized for best performance. The only time these were useful was back in the late 90s when high speed internet was a new thing. |
