New from Mozilla labs, now you can tell your browser what it to do, not just where you want it to go.

Here's a movie about it: http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop_local.sw ... itle=0&show_byline=0

For example: If I wanted to know what the weather was like in London, I could type CTRL+SPACE (CMD+SPACE on a Mac) weather london, and Ubiquity would tell me the weather in London!

Edit: fixed link.

I got a 404 error when i clicked your link. Other than the weather, what else can it do?

I fixed the link.

It can do searches on most search engines, translate text, allow you to edit any page, syntax highlight, email things (if you have gmail), and more.

The best part is that you can make your own commands very easily.

Why call it ubiquity? That just confuses things with ubuntu's OS installer which has been named ubiquity for some time now.

I have installed Ubuntu, but I have never seen the word ubiquity until the firefox plugin.

Its not advertised that that is the name, however I have heard people talking about it many times and If you look on launchpad you will find ubiquity. I use Linux Mint and they often talk about a modified ubiquity.

I guess though that if it is not that well known with others it's nothing to worry about.

Ubiquity, or ubiquitous, means the same as omnipresent, meaning that it is there everywhere.

In essence, Ubiquity is there in your browser no matter where you are on the web.
