Yep, I've started having those weird flashes on RS ever since I installed my Geforce 8800GT 512MB on my computer, so I'm thinking about returning it back to the store and "downgrading" my video card. I'm thinking about buying this one for now: 7600GS 256MB. Since 8800GT is nearly overkill on my PC anyways and that the game I play that has the highest requirements is BattleField 2, I *think* this should be OK. Also, I could be sure that my actual Power Supply is enough for my system with this too. So yeah, my questions are: 1. Do you think this will be able to run BattleField 2 without lagging a lot? The game is very RAM and CPU requiring but it says that the minimum requirements are a FX 5700 so I think it should be OK. Plus, I don't really mind going from Highest quality to lowest in my opinion. 2. Do you think there would be a better option for a graphics card? Because, really, I'm planning to upgrade or buy a new PC within a year so buying a 8800GT when I don't really need it to be that good is not really a clever choice, as it is most likely going to become not as good in a few months. Thank you very much ![]() |

Tidus, I have ATI Radeon X1600 Pro, it's cheap (€ 86 in store, but I got it 26 euro cheaper) It has 575MHz GPU clock and 256 mb vram. I can run BF on highest settings with a bit of lag, but that's probably caused by my insufficient 1gb ram, as I can play Assassins Creed with everything set to the max. I'd keep your 8800GT and search for solutions. Anyways, ATI Radeon X1600 pro |
