What would happen if I was to install Windows Vista onto an originally Windows XP computer? My computer appears to have crashed and I need to reinstall XP, but I have lost the disk. My computer is 2 and half years old (ish) so will anything major happen like losing files? Thanks, samuel |

Most of the time there's an option to Upgrade. But if XP has fallen down and crashed horribly that wouldn't be advisable, so you need to do a clean install. This would mean losing files. So it's a good idea to back up before you do it. |
