Post subject: | 30G iPod Video |
Well I just got one, and I'm not used to them since I used to have one of those black and white 3rd generation iPods. Well I finally updated and bought a 30G iPod video. My main concern is do I have to buy movies from iTunes? I was trying to upload some of my .avi and .mpeg files but iTunes wouldn't accept them. Is there any certain file type that it needs to be? If someone can tell me that would be very helpful. Thanks! |

I shall point you to: http://mp3.about.com/od/mp3players/ht/i ... o_ipod.htm This only works for movies without DRM. But by what you said I don't think your files have DRM. Try that and see if it works. If not I have a few more tricks up my sleeve. |

Only problem I see there is that it won't import into the video library at all. Erm, is there any way to convert a .avi file to a .mov file? |

Erm, is there any way to convert a .avi file to a .mov file? I believe Itunes acutually has its own converter...look around on the interface. |

If you can convert it to an mp4, you can put that straight into iTunes. Have a look around for Videora iPod converter. It has a vulgar, highly non-intuitive interface, but once you've got your head round it, you can convert many formats so they can be read on the iPod. |

That Videora iPod converter doesn't work for me, it gets some kind of error after it finishes converting and it can't add it to my library. |

PSP + 30 1Gb memsticks ![]() My friend has one, but his videos were played without sound. You can also use PSP movie converters, they convert alot of formats to mp4 and thm (thumbnail for psp, idk if it's needed for iPod) |

Personally I use and would recommend PQDVD Ipod video suite. A lot of options to tweak for quality / filesize and a very intuitive interface. It costs but it is worth it. 'CaP |
