Someone should make a "How long have you been using Opera" thread.

Version 8.5 in September 2005, when it became free. I had used version 4 before, though, and version 7, ages ago.

I started a revolution in my school 8). I told a friend about it, and we collectively converted a whole load of people, who converted more, etc. Now I hear people I would never expect to use it saying things like 'Firefox is crap, get Opera', or 'IE is rubbish, use Opera.'

About 20 months i'd say.

I just downloaded Opera yesterday and I love it! I personally like it much better than firefox, which I've been using for two years.

I downloaded it around a month ago.

I use a combination of Opera and FireFox now, depends which one I feel like using, lol. And Safari, but mostly for RuneScape.

I started using it over a year ago because firefox would crash on me all the time.

Dunno when I started using it, probably when I found out it was a browser, not just a latin thing on a stage.

About the time of September. I love it, it's so much better then firefox! I especially love Speed-dial. It makes my life go faster since there's only about 9 sites I mainly go on.

I've never used it to be honest. Firefox hasn't given me any problems since I started using it, except for a minor crash a long time ago. But other than that, it's never lost any bookmarks, crash constantly, etc.

However, if at any point Firefox becomes a nuisance, I know who I'll be switching to. :P

Same here! Even when Firefox crashes for me I always get a "Would you like to restore that session that just died" notice.

Yep, I agree with both these posts.

Never lost my bookmarks or browsed pages unless I do a security wipe. If Firefox dies because I get some laggy page on it lets me get all my tabs back.

Personally, until Firefox does something bad, I am satisfied with it and I don't think it's worth it to switch for a few more features.
