Quote: Two hackers at the ToorCon hacker conference in San Diego said that they’ve found a critical flaw in Firefox that looks, to them at least, impossible to patch. http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news.php?newsId=4979 I laugh in your face, Firefox noobs. I love this bit... Quote: ... and called the implementation “a complete mess”.
Hahaha. See, Firefox is not a perfect browser, and this is a very serious flaw in it. The way i see it, they'll have to completely redesign the Javascript engine, and that will take time - time that you might not have, because your PC may already have been broken into by that time. Sure, Firefox may be slightly better than IE, but when it really comes down to the best, its Opera; in security especially. And speed. And features. Oh, and user-friendliness. - On another note, if you refuse to use Opera because you think tabs should go below the address bar, PM me your msn name, and i'll send you a couple of nifty little files to fix that, which makes Opera look quite like the FF interface. |

you really try to make people start using opera 0_o... well, there's nothing to keep me using firefox, except one stupid thing in opera, which is very riskful if i'm playing rs... i lost 1,5m worth of stuff because of that... but if it can be changed, of course i change to opera ![]() oh what thing i'm talking about? well, there's that little red cross in every tab which closes it... and it's very possible that you click it, and when i was killing dagannoths... i just ended up dying... this is just offtopic, maybe i should talk something about that firefox flaw... well, if there will be any problems with firefox, then i'll change to opera, and i hope you, MOTV, will be happy... ![]() |

Tool -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Tabs -> Uncheck the 'Show close button on every tab' checkbox. Oh, and if you do close a tab by accident, you can press Ctrl + Alt + Z and it opens again anyway. Yeah, so get Opera. |

I think I've heard about this before. Another option if you are paranoid and still want to use Firefox is to use the noscript extension. I use this myself. |

Stop telling everyone that FF sucks and to get Opera. I never said that FF was perfect. It has enough, though - tabs, cool name, and it loads pages quickly (just opens up slow...). And FF is fine, right now, even with this. |

Yes.. Exactly.. I don't need a browser that has a bittorrent client built in. A widget system build in. I want an open source brwoser. We don't need to start browser wars here. Everyone has their own preference. Stop trying to influence people, it gets annoying. [/rant] Now for the bug, that's why I turn off Javascript on sites I am not familiar with. This bug really needs to be patched though. They should think about fixing it in 2.0 if it requires a rewrite. |

Ok many people like to start an browser wars, but heres the solution... Some people like Microsoft IE, Some Like FireFox, some like Opera, sure it doesnt matter which browser they use I believe that all that matters is which browser the Like so we dont go recommending to use Opera to someone who like firefox, or trying to make someone use FireFox if they like Internet Explorer, also another thing each person has their own Taste in what browser they want to use, Like I said Each person has their own tastes, So if someone likes using firefox and dont want to switch they should use it, its their decision on what they plan to use Not ours... -Beatles- Sorry if am being nerdy. |

Opera users = Bullies Firefox users = Generally Good competetors IE users = Lost :p The bug cant just be patched by two people. It takes alot. They 'claim' to have done it so they can be lying. Beatles made a good point :p Ive used noscript for a while so it blocks popups and some more things. Opera, fat lady, crap american show |

This whole thing with the "'Unpatchable' flaw" was just a joke. The people who put it out were just trying to be funny when they were doing their conversation. You can see it here: http://www.heise-security.co.uk/news/78970 From digg: http://digg.com/security/Claimed_Securi ... ust_A_Joke But the Mozilla team will still look at it, so that's good. |

That just goes to show how these media sources can never be trusted. and I think the joke was not funny at all. |
