I just use the windows firewall and it works fine. I never get anything bad anymore. I also have Norton Anti-Virus 2006 and Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta, that combination with the windows firewall keeps me computer free of pretty much everything. I haven't had a problem since I started this one. |

dont understand your poll but i use zonealarm firewall and i dont lag on f2p or p2p maybe you have some extra proccess running in the background or maybe its something else. what browser are you useing? and whats your full security configureation (what programs aside from zonealarm are you useing to protect your pc) |

If you are behind a router, you should not need a software firewall providing you are not using DMZ. If you are behind a router and want more protection, just use the windows one. I use zone alarm and don't have any problems. Don't use any norton firewall. They can really hurt performance. Norton AV is ok though. So, either router and windows firewall or just zone alarm(sygate). That would be your best bet or go back to sygate if you can't fix zone alarm. |

I primarily use Zone Alarm, Never made me lag - it might be your internet cache and or cookies taking up a load of memory. Whenever I lagged I just cleared that and it stopped lagging. Norton AV really p*ssed me off -.- I uninstalled it. lol. |
