ok, gontcha recently asked me to do fight caves with him, but i was busy earning that fancy pink rank, so i declined, then this morning at like 2 am my time, he asks if i have any prayer gear he can "borrow," and i obliged with a god cloak, stole, and bandos boots. then i, without my good equipment i just traded to gontcha, decided to tag along and give it a half ***'ed effort.

here was my equipment and stats going into the fight:

inventory:
dragon halberd
tuna potato x4
prayer potion (4) x 12
saradomin brew (4) x5
super restore (4) x5

despite having almost no skill at fight caves, my first attempt landed me at tztok jad about a half hour after gontcha died. after getting 3 healers interested in me, i got shot and died. not bad for a first timer eh?

now, my goal is as follows: complete the fight cave and ontain a fire cape before 20th February 2008, my 2 year aniversary of runescape. i only used up 800 steel arrows getting through it, and i predict with the accumulator, about 1k mithril arrows would be sufficient to complete the event. 1.5k for safety. my second improvement will be bandos boots over dragon boots. for slightly better prayer. lastly, i'll be working on getting 80 ranged throughout the month to help better my odds.

I'll post a picture of my stats and equipment for the next trip sometime next weekend.


PS: GLUUME, I GET TO LAUGH AT YOU NOW FOR BEING SUCH A SLAYER NOOB :D i told you if i got fire cape before you you'd be dissowned... better get cracking ;)

looks like i'll be making my attempts at 77 ranged. it trains rather slowly unfortunatly. also, i bought some steel bars off of shane to make cannon balls, so once i'm done with those i'll be within stout range of making my own adamant arrows, so i'll be using adamant instead. 100 bars = 1500 arrows isn't hard to make, :)

also, got 79 strength today, and i'll be training attack strength and ranged any time i'm not smithing arrows or cannonballs.

lastly, i got 2 aberrant missions like 3 apart from eachother, and got a solid 30+ ranarr weeds from them, so i have my prayer potions about covered for a few runs. if i can i'll get 62 herblore and make my own super restore potions instead of buying them from the exchange.

wow, lol, i just woke up, 2:00 pm my time. well, i actually woke up several times but promptly fell asleep again. i kept dreaming about going in and wearing the wrong arrows or helm or something dumb like that. although i hate it when i have dreams about rs... (little embarrassed by them tbh), i think this shows i don't think jad is a problem, just getting to him, lol. i've got everything together, and i'm about to log in and take the dive, after i go to the restroom. :)

Good luck with the cape! Looks like you've been doing well, especially for using less than recommended equipment. Might want to bring rune arrows for Jad; I've heard that makes a great combo. A few things (actually, just one :wink: ) I'd change about your outfit would be the ring. If you've completed Lunar Diplomacy, wear that ring. It'll give you a slightly higher magic defence, and it won't cost you anything.

Again, good luck! Can't wait to see a few of those first pictures :D
