i'm going from 60 smithing to 68 smithing, making steel platebodies. If there are any other faster ways for an f2p-er tell me. |

i dont know, but i think that if you ask a Member friend to make iron bars for you(you only get iron ores), it would take less time to make iron plates, because you dont need to get coal, etc. do as you wish, but for me, its gonna be 57-75 with iron plates(xp) and steel bars($$$) |

I disagree completely. Steel Plates don't give that much xp per $$$ and they don't save you any money. For starters smithing anything bronze (except bronze plates which give you less per bar) is the best bet. Iron is next. Beyond that you might make steel bars. Slow... but you make much more money. If money isn't a problem then Iron bars are the best way to go unless you can find the elusive bronze bars. |

If I am right, Iron Platebodies give 125 exp each and are easier to make, since the only ore you need is iron. But the problem is the smelting, so if I get a ton of iron ores, which is easy, I will only need to make around 3500 iron plates until 68, which doesn't seem like a lot, compared to 2500 steel. So based on what I know, a vote for other ![]() |

If money isn't a problem why not steel? Even if money is a problem steel is still a good way to go. Iron isn't a good choice in my book because unless you're a member, with access to a lot of rings that can do the 100% smith rate you just end up losing 50% of the iron you smelted making it a huge waste of time. If you buy the resources you lose 50% of what you brought. And if you mine it again you lose out on half the work you put in. |
