It's been a fairly long time since I've seen a buddy. I remember seeing huge buddy-kits and people were using them quite a lot.

One thing to improve them is to save the originals as .png, so that you don't lose any quality.

Wow, it's been forever since I've seen these things. They look cool. Yes, as Southrend said, save them as png files and you will get much better quality images.
