Hey there.
It was one of those day I felt like trying photoshop. So I closed all my windows, all doors, killed my dogs (not), and put a nice warning in my study door:
Image
Well not really...

But indeed, I have tried to use photoshop!
I've made a small signature:
I'm a major newbie when it comes to photoshop, and I haven't used it for... I can't even remember for how long I haven't opened it.
So yeah here's my crappy work:
Image

Please, I'd be really happy to receive some tips so I could get better... Please please!
Also, rate it if you feel like it :) .

Well, you did what nearly every new Photoshop user does, mess around with the styles/effects :)

But yeah, it looks kinda cool, but overdone. I'd say just leave the sketch/watercolor/whatever effects you used to the background, and blend your render.

But not bad for your first Photoshop creation.

Now practice with some borders. :)

That's the first thing that came to my mind was the effects you used Alex. I think trying to blend the the render on the right with the background might make it not look like it's standing out. A border would be nice, even if it's just a line on the top and bottom (which I've seen in a couple of the resent signatures people have been posting). I really like the effect on the background. Blend your render and it will look much better I think.

Hehe guess you can't fool your masters :)

I've been exploring a bit more, testing different types of blending, from auto-blend to gradient techniques, but for some reason I just can't get it right...
What would you guys suggest? How can I blend it nicely?

Thanks for all the help :)

Everyone has to start somewhere :)

For a beginner experimenting it isn't too bad. You should check out some tutorials, they'll help you get on the road to Photoshop mastery.

Thank you for your opinions so far. :) Its really important.
I'll definitely study photoshop deeper when I have time! I've watched quite a few videos, but many of them made me more confused than before. So much to do, so little time. So much to learn :(

Anyways, made another try:

Spoiler for comparing both:

New:

But for some reason... I feel that's even worse :/
Again, any tips at this point is greatly appreciated!
Thanks again!

EDIT: Yes... its even worse in my opinion, after comparing both.

Um... I don't really think the border does it with this signature. The render blends much better but I think making the whole render a little more blended all the way through would make it look better. But that's just me.
