Something I tried to do, using a technique I haven't used before. I don't think I pulled it off properly but I think it looks alright?
C&C is wanted and appreciated :D

Looks pretty nice, very tribal :D

You text looks a bit pixelly though, otherwise I don't see any problems with it.

Yeah it was really weird. If I'd picked another font it would've looked a lot more pixelated.

It's nice. Very earthy/natural tone to it.

But you gotta get rid of that black spot on his ear, it's driving me crazy

I'd move the splatters to the left more; nearer the stock, and the text too, they are taking the focus off what should be your focal (the stock) :wink:.
Keep working at it, you'll get it right. :P

You probably have anti-aliasing off.

OK I made the splatter a little less artisitic and more random as when I tried big splatters across his face, it ruined the stock. I worked out the text and moved it closer to the stock itself. I don't think there's anymore black spots on his ear. Anyway, here it is:
