First time back making a signature in a while. I didn't think it was going to turn out all that great, but it turned out rather interesting. Don't make fun of the name, I am bad at making good names. :P

Just a note, I did not use any brushing at all in this signature.

C/C please? And don't post like 9/10 its good. That doesn't help at all. Post your rating and why you choose it, I want to know.

Heres a new version. I took the gary overlay off and I made a new border. I was messing aroung with dashed borders, tell me what you think of this new border.

Heres a third update, I made a sharpen layer on the top and sharpened it. It looks a lot better now.

*makes fun of name* ;-)

Its pretty cool actually, the first thing that caught my eye was the border. or lack of one, depending on how you look at it. Its something I've never really seen before, but I like it nonetheless.

The background is quite nice, looks like magma oozing over wood in some places. Although I think the area from the bottom left corner to the top right of the soldiers' helmet looks a bit weird, overall the background looks good.

And the text is just plain perfect for this sig, spacing, style, colour, no problems at all.

Yeah, in making the border I reversed the order in which I use black and white, and didn't notice it until I turned it on overlay. It is supposed to look different, but it looked "different" if you know what I mean. I kind of liked the way it went with the sig. I knew it was going to be one of the first things that was pointed out though.

I like that though, it gives the sig originality. And not the sort that people say a sig has if it looks stupid.

Imagine what will happen if a Flaming Soldier will join these forums! They will be ruined! :o [/makingfunofsignaturename]
I love the background, the render, the font, the border, everything is supreme, I can't find a fault out here. I'll give it 10/10. A very good job.

I think the 'grey overlay' was to put the contrast down to a normal level. Not just to make it lighter. From what I/we can see on the outside of the sig, the contrast was quite high.

In America, they say "Don't ask, don't tell" right? :D

A definite "no" to a the grey overlay. The only time a grey overlay would sort of look good would be in more tech/abstract signatures. This one just drains the colour from the whole sig. Maybe take that off and bump the contrast down a tiny bit. I'll give this an 8.5/10

I updated it without the overlay. One is not sharpened and one is sharpened. Tell me what you guys think about the newer versions.

Gotta agree with MQ, the overlay is kinda distracting...but it is still very good over all. The others are very good, though, except for the borders. Maybe that's just me, though, as I never liked dashed borders. :P

Imo, I still feel the first is the best.

The second looks a bit plain and washed out, and im not a great fan of sharp sigs. Sharpness in some areas are fine, but I do think it's messed up the bg a bit.

Third time pays for all, and it is the best out of the 3 if you ask me.

Make a forth with #2's background and #3's soldier in it.
