Post subject:  January 2010 Events Crew Applications [Closed]

Applications are now closed. You can find the events in the events forum and in the rotator at the bottom of the forum front page.

As stated earlier in the month we are opening up Events Crew applications. We are looking for two new Events Crew members. The Events Crew also acts as chat moderators in clan chat, this will be an added responsibility of becoming an Events Crew member. With this being said, forum background checks will play a secondary but important role in determining your success.

We would like you to plan and execute a successful Runescape event using the Events forum. Your event will be judged solely on its success. Your event can be anything you want, anywhere you want, anytime you want. With this being said an event hosted at 2am North American time that does not draw participants might not be successful. Uniqueness will play a role in selection, but this is negligible. The only restriction on event time is that it must take place between Jan 17 and Jan 23. You must also post the event at least one week before it is due to start.

Once your event is planned please PM either Mike or myself with your event topic link. If you feel your event is a competition of sorts, we will hand out a competition rank for February based on the criteria specified by you. All events posted and messaged to us will be listed in our event rotator to aid you in promotion.

I'll ask since some people are way to shy to do it themselves:

If two people co-lead an event and play an active role in leading their event will they both be considered?

That's fine. Just be sure that the two people had an equal role in designing it and implementing it.

Good God! I have 3 finals that week. XD This is going to be tough to get an event ready, while studying, etc. If I do get one in, I hope I get in this time. [-o<

2009?

Don't you mean 2010?

I guess I'll have a go at this again. It's hard to think of an idea though, with all the good events already taken. I have exams from 18th-21st but will probably still have school on the 22nd. So yeah my event will most likely be on the 23rd HK morning time, 22nd night time for North Americans.

This will be obviously biased by the members. If someone who nobody likes tries to do an event, nobody will come, even if it's a great event.

Each event will receive equal promotion. A few people isn't likely to make a difference in the success of an event if something like this were to happen.

That's also why there are secondary factors as well ;)

Yea, but how are you going to know it's successful if nobody comes?

We look at your presentation of the event, as well as the event itself. If you can't convince people to come to your event, that's one thing. Not convincing us that the event is worthy of considering is something different entirely.

Be sure that your event application is something that shows you care about the position, and can at least take enough time to create something appealing. Fill all of the criteria in the application, and present it well. If you can't do this, then it won't matter if your event is 'good' or not; you won't stand a chance to get the position. As a guideline, look at existing events for examples of how to present the information.

Good luck to all who apply!

Just making sure can this be an xbox 360 event and can we make more than one Event or will only one go towards the application?

Does this mean I cannot enter my event tomorrow January 18th and still be eligible to apply to the Events Crew?

The week notice period has ended. To that effect applications are closed.
