So, Jagex doesn't know of RSBandBUpdate!??? Today, just hours ago, Jagex posted a question on their RuneScape Facebook Page, asking people if they would like a regular RuneScape podcast.
The nerve!

well, if they create a runescape radio or something, they should talk to us here at rsbandb. i mean, even if they create a "radio station" for inside of runescape, I bet shane, brad and whoever else is on would possibly be willing to do a talk section every week, then there could be volunteers from people that already have experience (wink wink nudge nudge I'm thinking of myself and you dano) could do talk sections between music, or just talk. |

Well their podcast would have a lot of stuff R!U doesn't that might be more interesting... staff interviews, behind the scenes, future updates, etc. None of this tech news LOL!! And if R!U is asked to participate but then they have to ask every other popular RS podcast so I dunno... Is System Update still making episodes? XD |

Nope, System Update went defunct after the 8th episode. There are no other regular podcasts. I've looked and continue to keep an eye out for them. R!U is IT!! But, you are right in that it would be interesting to hear stuff directly from Jagex on the game in a podcast. Would be different content than R!U indeed. |

I haven't heard of any, and a quick search of iTunes and google came up with RSBANDB at no. 1, and then a couple of defunct podcasts, then a home-brew one that only has 13 episodes and well, to be polite, not very good audio and kind of annoying voices..... Warren, to answer your question, System Update has been defunct since august. RSBANDBUpdate FTW guys. |

Funny, that in the last episode of RSBandBUpdate! (#313), Shane mentioned that sometime in the future he'd like to have a JMod on the show. Well, I think that Jagex will be wanting to have all of us on "their" show. How much should we charge them for an interview? (Just kidding of course.)

I'm just saying if fansites are included in something Jagex does it's not like you'd want RSBANDB to excluded since it's really small, same hospitality should be extended to others as well. |

Yes, indeed Warren. I agree. But, for the moment what a great opportunity to get all of those people on Facebook exposed to RSBandB. This is a prime opportunity to get them interested in our community and get them listening to the podcast. Also, wouldn't it be great if Jagex started listening to R!U because they are now aware of it? What great feedback they would get from (what I do not hesitate in saying) our wonderful hosts who provide some pretty competent and respected analysis. Now here me this RSBandB Community: Chaaaaaarrrrrggge!!!! |

I'll put it out there that I highly doubt they don't already know of R!U. They recognize RSBANDB as a fansite, and they recognize that RSBANDB doesn't remove non-rs gaming ads at least so they've looked around the site. And there's been a few (maybe many idk anymore) cases where something is mentioned on R!U, and a week later it's added in an update. So coincidental I think that they had to have listened. |

They had better have it playing every Monday morning in the Jagex studios over the loud speakers, that's all I have to say.  Anyway, great going guys. I saw some of your comments on the Facebook post. Keep it up every so often. Not too often to come across as spam but I know that we are now visible and people will be checking us out. I'd be very interested in seeing how many new RSBandB members we get today and in the next few days. Even if there was a way to track how many downloads of R!U have happened today. Just to see how much exposure the FB posts actually get us. |

I doubt we're going to get much exposure from it, sad to say. I had a brief brose through the first 300 comments on that post, and most seemed like iditos - either whining about bans, wanting the "old Runescape" back, or telling us all that they wouldn't listen to a podcast because "RS music sucks" so why would they listen to a podcast? As if the two were connected lol. As for inviting RsbandbUpdate! along, I doubt it. Maybe Shane, but I think that's highly unlikely. Also yeah, Shane and I did an extensive search awhile back. We're the only running podcast that has been in production over a year, let alone 7 years lol. In their mind, they're probably seeing podcasting as an untapped market that only one podcast has been able to claw their way into. And hey, we don't fit their version of a gold or platinum fansite, so why not just try to force their way into the market? On occasion they have tweeted us, way back when, so at the very least some Jmods know about us. I wouldn't expect anything big from this.
