I still use the old theme so I am not sure that many people see this but I believe there is a coding bug with the view active topics button. When it is clicked all that is showed is sandbox topics. I don't know if is done on purpose. I do know that one bug may lead to many other bugs as well so I figured I would post this as a to whom it my consern. That is all. :D

I wouldn't worry about it. That theme is being discontinued when RuneWire 3 launches.

Why?! The other theme runs like crap on my mobile browser. (And on my phone is the only time I can find to post on these forums.) The other theme takes up alot of data and I can not type as well on that theme as on this theme. The other theme lags my typing speed for some reason. In fact I am typing this message on my phone!

Well it wasn't being made by a site owner or commissioned to someone so whether it would be implemented unless finished 100% and is perfect, i dunno

The mobile theme developer went AWOL. He said he was going to work on it but never came back. We've abandoned the project.

Also as for those of you still using classic, Mike sent out a pm a while ago to you guys. RuneWire 3 has new features that utilize the forum skin and everyone needs to be on this new theme to take advantage of it.

It's not that we don't like the idea of a mobile theme, it's just that we have more important things to do.

We don't even need a mobile theme. I think there just needs to be a theme that is less chunky than the current one for mobile use. For right now that is the classic theme. There is no way that there can even be a simple version of the decade theme. (That is what it is called isn't it?) Mabey just a theme without the background and just pure black would be fine? I dont know..

Am I the only one who feels this way about this issue?

That might be doable but no guarantees as to when.

It's also more likely that it's the CSS3 drop shadows and whatnot. Out of curiosity what OS, browser, and phone are you using?

Here is a copy of the PM I sent out in January:

Mike wrote:
Hello,

This message is being sent to everyone that is currently using the rsbandbClassic style on the forums. That is all 11 of you :P

I hate to say it, but this style is eventually going to get discontinued. We have been doing the maintenance required when it needs to get updated but it's getting really time consuming for such a small amount of people using it, especially when some of the 11 people are no longer active posters on the forums.

There are more features in the works for the site that will more tightly integrate the forums with the main site. When those come, it no longer makes much sense to have a different style on the forums when the rest of the site uses elements from the rsbandb-decade style.

So far, most of the changes to the style have been fairly minor, only as required for security updates and bug fixes from phpbb, but with the next major thing we have to do to the forum styles, we will either be retiring rsbandbClassic, or it will not have these things added to it.

I urge you guys to give the rsbandb-decade style another try. It does take a while to get used to, but I do believe it is a better style. Please let me know what you don't like about it, or give me a good reason as to why the classic style shouldn't be removed.

-Mike

Mobile usage is a valid concern. Perhaps we could just add a mobile CSS style sheet to the current theme to remove shadows, reduce the size of some of the text and reduce the size of the header? I don't have a smartphone so I don't really know what the major problems with it are.

I have both Android and iOS if you need to test anything :p
By the way, as of right now I have no issues viewing the forums from my Thunderbolt running Android 2.3 with the stock browser.

For some reason I have a nice among of lag on my phone when I type on the new theme. Although I did just test it out on my iDevice and I had no problem. So the only people with a weak browser like mine will have a problem most likely have the only problem with it.

I've got a wp7 as well and I experience no problems at all with the design.
