Banned means banned. You can't even access the forums if you're banned. Probation means all your posts must be reviewed for 30 days, then it is decided if you stay banned or come back. So yes, they can read PM's. |

Can a permanent ban be reversed at all or does permanent mean permanent? Just for clarification. ![]() |

Permanent does indeed mean permanent. I'd assume the only circumstance in which a permanent ban would be lifted is if it were discovered that a mistake was made. And just to add to what Shane said, members on probation are still able to post, but anything they post is not immediately visible to the public; it has to be cleared by a moderator to ensure that the content is acceptable. So yeah.. you wouldn't generally be proud of being on probation. After a month of that, they undergo a staff review to determine whether they should be given a second chance or just receive a ban. |

But as for permanent bans being reversed. You never know. When we switched the boards over to PHBB 3.0 all the bans but a select one or two were repealed and everyone was given a clean slate. Although that has only happened once in 4 and a half years now.. so I wouldn't count on it as much of a get out of jail free card. |

We can discuss protocol as far as probation/banning goes in public but not specific cases. |

So, if they posted in a topic and other users posted later in that topic, by the time their post was clear, would it show up in the topic at the time they posted it or at the time it was cleared? ![]() |
